This will be a weekly issue and it will be different during the season, but for the preseason I will be looking at players who are trying to make the team, or move up the depth chart.

Lets face it, thats what the preseason is for, evaluating players, wins and losses don't matter nearly as much, If Sparano could get a good idea about a few players and lose, or win and be no closer to getting a read on any players, he would gladly take the loss.

I will pick 2 players on each side of the ball, and this weeks players are Davone Bess and Brandon London on O, and Cameron Wake and Jason Taylor on D.

Davone Bess is trying to become a starter for this team so he is going to have to show more then Camarillo to get the nod.

Brandon London is playing for a roster spot, amongst all the rookie hoopla BL has had a nice camp, he's flown under the radar due to the rookie watch, but he has been here before, they haven't, he will most likely have an advantage because of that.

Cam Wake and Jason Taylor have similar stories, both former DMVPs and dominant superstar players, for JT it's a matter of seeing how much of that he has left, for Cam Wake it's a matter of seeing if he can do it in the big league.

Those are my 4 players I think will have good games, what about you guys?

… btw, it’s not televised where I am… they’re showing the Giants game, I think… sucks to be me.

… but hopefully I’ll catch what NFL.com is posting on their live whatever it is…. unless someone here is posting something…

We can make average or even rookie DBs look good if we have great pressure. And we can’t have great pressure if we don’t stop the run. I am very concerned about that middle. Tony McDaniel is my #1….
then I want to see how Starks is progressing, don’t forget he’s young too and last year may have been the most palying time he’s received in a year.
Eric Green is still a mystery because he is supposed to be “better than advertised”- i’ll belive it when I see it,

On offense, I need to see the chemistry between Smiley, Grove and Thomas. These three need to be an arrowhead cutting through defenses with regularity. I also need to see Henne command the offense. He hasn’t shown me that he owns the play, excited to get to the line and execute. To me, he still has that far away rookie look on his face..

For the team:
1) I want to see players hustling through the whistle
2) gang tackling
3) proper tacking
4) running north and south, and definately NO tip-toeing out of bounds.
5) no one getting overly excited- I hate those tackle celebrations when you’re down 10 points or those stupid chest pumps for doing what your supposed to.. Play football, act like you do it all the time and that always scares the opposition. Rah Rah BS just gets the other team excited to punch you in the mouth..

I like this idea and here is what I am most interested in seeing.

Offense – combo Shawn Murphy/Donald Thomas, Ernest Wilford

Defense – Cam Wake, Vontae Davis/ Sean Smith

Really there is a lot more to look at but I think this time last year I was watching Jason Allen as a starting safety … I think I will be interested to see how he plays to haha
