Dolphins Training Camp: Open Thread 8/15
The Dolphins have two practices today as they prepare for their preseason opener against the Jaguars on Monday. The first is at 10:15 am and is open to the public. The second is set for 3 pm and is inside the bubble.
The kicking competition is getting very interesting, as Connor Barth again out-performed Dan Carpenter on Friday. But the highlight if Friday's practice seemed to be Pat White's day - his best as a Miami Dolphin. Hopefully he can build on his solid performance in both sessions yesterday.
John Nalbone has also been putting together some good practices this week. He caught a TD pas with the first-team offense during goal-line drills yesterday from Chad Pennington. And all week, he's shown much better hands than he did during OTAs and minicamps. Joey Haynos should be worried, if you ask me.
Meanwhile, Chad Henne again failed to move his team down the field during the 2-minute drill in practice. At what point do we get worried? Just wondering aloud...
As always, use this thread for all of your training camp discussion. As you find links to various practice reports, post them below. I will update this post as time allows with links to the reports to keep everyone as updated as possible.

Honestly though
Im not too worried about Henne….think of it this way: when a player in any sport gets taught brand new things it can many times be seen as a step backwards because the player in essence has to relearn everything with the new lessons in mind. I think that may be what were seeing with Henne.

But Hene is already one year into the system!!
Im a lil worry! NOt much, just and icht.
I will see the Dolphins win a SUPER BOWL before i die(22 years and counting)
Pat White
If management was completely confident in Hene would White have been drafted….is he truly just a gadget player or also a safety net?
Let’s face it picking a QB that can be successful in the NFL is one of the toughest things to do…..how many top college QB’s have completely bombed in the NFL.

Lest we forget...
Henne worries me a lot, just doesn’t seem to have “it.” At all.
BUT….neither did Elway or Bradshaw, for almost two years, from what I hear. Fans in both cities wanted to give them the big boot….just sayin’…

Yes sometimes it takes time!
Look at Eli (he got better but will never be his brother)….like I stated earlier…Pat White may be more then just a wildcat man….he may be added insurance!

Wilford...
It doesn’t make sense to keep Wilford IMHO! Just cause he started making some plays against some back up players!? Maybe if we didn’t have a solid TE then it would make more sense!

Loved this
Bill Parcells was in a playful mood afterward, purposely walking behind Channing Crowder as he conducted TV interviews and bumping him with his right shoulder. Crowder continued talking, noting how he was just “happy to have Bill Parcells in my life.” When he turned and realized Parcells was out of earshot, Crowder laughed and said, “He’s gone? Forget him then.” No way Crowder would talk that way unless there was a genuine closeness between the two.
