Mark Sanchez Will Suck
I've run into so many Jet fans that have been having a love affair with their new rookie quarterback. They think he's the "next Namath". Well, I've got news for you Jet fans. MARK SANCHEZ SUCKS!
Now here are my reasons:
1. Lack of Experience: He played one year in college, and he was on-and-off most of the season. This wont transfer well to the NFL.
2. Bad Attitude: This guy is the T.O. of quarterbacks, with even less talent. He talks the talk, but can't walk the walk. He's gonna wind up suspended for the season when he finds out that he can't smoke whatever he wants out in NY.
3. Finally and most importantly LACK OF SKILL: Pretty self-explanatory. He will not be able to throw past NFL defenses.

why do you flee
why do so many NY fans love to use hit and run smack talk? Is it that hard to formulate(That means “come up with”) a thought for you guys that you need to recupurate(rest) afterwards?

unfortunately i think he is going to be good
and even though i would like #2 to be true, what has he ever done like TO besides modeling stuff? he’s never been known to break up a locker room. in fact, hes been shown to be a good leader.
Also to #3, he doesnt have a very strong arm but is super accurate, which i think is actually more important (it worked out for our chad P right?).
very possible the only reason i think this is true is because my bro was on his 8th grade football team. my brother was actually one of his top receivers haha
dont get me wrong, im still rooting for him to suck as much as every other Jet, i just THINK he’ll actually be good

The Brandon London fanboys here
have no problem with him doing modeling, so who cares if Mark Sanchez does? Tom Brady has done a few spots and it doesn’t seem to have affected his play…
As if anything could be less relevant to football~
Anyway, on another team, with a different coaching staff – I could see Sanchez becoming a pretty good QB. In a city with better fans and less pressure than NY along with coaches who knew how to prepare a team, run an offense, and show the maturity level of something more than an 13 year old (ala Rex Ryan).
Naturally none of that will happen.
It is plain for anyone to see that he’ll be expected to play immediately. For a guy with just one full season as a starter in college AND being a junior, that sounds like a one way ticket to the draft bust junkyard. In addition, the jets receiving core scares nobody. They’ll be like the Ravens of the Kyle Boller days and that’s who I expect Sanchez’s career to parellel – Boller.
Did I mention that Rex Ryan is his head coach
by Natalya on Jul 8, 2009 7:14 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
yes you did
so make sure the fins have plenty of ice packs and ace bandages because there going to need them remember you said it Rex Ryan is the coach and the Jets have the defensive tools. this will be fun to watch this season

HAHAHAHA
fun to watch, LLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL, you’ll be a Giant fan by the end of the season, cuz Rin tin tin Ryan is clueless
by uncle finster on Jul 9, 2009 12:05 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Except your forgetting one thing.
Rex Ryan doesn’t have the likes of Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs, and the rest of the Ravens D to carry him. Yeah, he has Bart Scott, but Scott can only do so much. I’m betting that most of Rex Ryan’s “defensive genius” was from having the aforementioned Raven’s defense to make him look good. Having a bunch of great defensive players does not make one a “defensive genius”.
If he can pull the Jets into one of the top 5 defenses in the league, I’ll give him his credit, but for now, I see him as just riding on the coattails of the Ravens players’ skills.

And yet the original point of the post stands:
Mark Sanchez will not be a good QB in NY.
by Natalya on Jul 9, 2009 11:18 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I completely agree.
New York is probably the worst spot for a rookie quarterback to start in. When he starts struggling, the fans aren’t going to care that he’s a rookie and still adjusting to the NFL, they aren’t going to care that he doesn’t really have any recieving threats to throw too, they are just going to turn on him. And shortly after that he will completely collapse under the pressure and become the bust that the NY fans will already be saying he is.
Given another team and another city, I think he has the potential to develop into a pretty good quarterback. But I think that getting drafted by the Jets and thrown into the starting QB position is just signing him to a short and disappointing career.

I believe Flacco had alot of success
because the Ravens are a Defensive Team. Flacco gets alot of oppurtunities and doesn’t have to do much because their D is so solid. Don’t expect the same from Sanchez

you can't sell Flacco short though
he did do a good job last year and has a tremendous arm

A few factors why Flacco's situation was not the same as Sanchez's:
1 – Flacco wasn’t even expected to be the starter. That task was to fall on the hands of one Kyle Boller. Nobody was going to pencil in Flacco as the starter. It was only due to Boller’s injury that Flacco got his chance + an injury to Troy Smith further helped Flacco.
2 – Given the above, expectations for Flacco weren’t exactly that high.
3 – Expectations for the team itself weren’t high as they went 5-11 in ’07
Compare that to the jets…
1 – high expectations after the team just missed the playoffs. 8-8 isn’t going to cut it.
2 – signing of many high paid free agents and a team stocked with veterans for what is obviously a win-now mentality
3 – jets moved way up in the draft and handed Sanchez a huge deal. he is expected to win now, not 2 years from now.

At least right up to the moment when Joey Porter, Jason Taylor and Cameron Wake are converging on him for a sack !
Then he will wish he was back in Pop Warner, much less college!

Not totally with you....
2. Bad Attitude: This guy is the T.O. of quarterbacks, with even less talent. He talks the talk, but can’t walk the walk. He’s gonna wind up suspended for the season when he finds out that he can’t smoke whatever he wants out in NY.
Gotta say, as much as I hope he does suck b/c I despise the J**s, this is more than a little off base. As a Trojan, I halfta say that Mark was a brilliant leader. Though he did have the arrest (the details are a little sketchy, it must be said), he was always positive and did what was best for the team (since the incident), even when he was (in many Trojan fans opinions) unfairly forced to back up JDB after Matt left. He bided his time, until he got his chance and while he was at the helm he was a model of leadership and has the perfect temperament for a qb. TO he is certainly not.
But, as we know, just a good attitude and intangibles does not a successful quarterback make. For me, he was never as accurate as I hoped he would be, plus he did have a tough time staying healthy at SC, when he played. While he started every game that season, he was always a little gimpy/banged up, and he took too many hits, which is a real problem considering he was playing behind an excellent USC offensive line. Everyone knows that he doesn’t have the strongest arm in the world, but as our current qb shows, succesful qb’s don’t have to have a gun like Farve.
All things considered, I have no idea whether he will be a decent qb (I hope he doesn’t, except if he leaves he AFC East), but the numbers certainly make it seem unlikely. When he was leaving SC, I remember PC talking about how low the odds of qb’s who leave a year early have of succeeding. Have no real problem w/ the post, just saying I totally disagree w/ the TO of quarterbacks thing. He brings a positive, infectious attitude to a football team, at least he did at SC.

I dunno. . .
I was ticked to death when the Jets got him, but he may be more explosive than you think. He’s had great work-outs and practices all offseason, has been a leader in the locker rooms, and has according to NFL.com has showed great talent. One thing I do agree to is that yes, he will indeed have trouble with other defenses. One year of college does make him iffy but, I say compared to the other rookie QB’s, he’s a Matt Ryan.

IMHO, any speculation about how good/bad Snachez is/will be is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to early.
As JT said, (close enough at least), anyone can look good/great/bad in pajamas. Besides, look who Snachez plays for! New ROOKIE coach, fickle & obnoxious fans.
And no, I do not think a comparo between Sparano last year and Rexy this year works. I mean really, dod Sparano get into a public mud-slinging with a JJJJJJJJJets player last June? How ignorant and . . . well, it speaks for itself.
