Dolphins +/- 7 wins?

Hey dolfans. I was really intruiged by the Vegas odds for the Dolphins total season wins. Attempting to put the homer in me aside, I truly honestly believe we can win 7 games this year. Here are some things that I've been considering.

I know people are saying the WC will not prosper anymore because D coordinators have found a way to shut it down, but I'm just not sold on it. I really do think our coaching staff can utilize this and let it still be a successful set. I love what one of our fellow phinsiders said (Sorry I dont remember who to give credit to!) it is not just a trick set or anything. Would you tally up how many yards or TDS resulted from a shotgun formation? A singleback formation? No. The WC is simply another set that the Dolphins have in their arsenal.

I really like the fact that we've brought Jason Taylor back. Although he did have a down season last year, you can tell he is ready to come back and show all the naysayers that he still has it. I am sure he won't play as much as previously when he was in MIA but i think he will be used more effectively. I know we have others like Merling and Langford that have shown tremendous flashes last year. I think if they progress, we should be fine in terms of pressuring the QB. I also have high hopes for Cammy Wake. Progress is all I expect to see with him. Even if his sack totals are 1/4 of what he had in the CFL, Ill take it,

I am still a bit worried about our secondary though for at least the first bit of the season. I know our young bucks will step up after a bit but I just hope those setbacks don't cost us valuable wins. Will Allen will be solid. You know what to expect out of him. The potential for our CBs though is great. I can't help but to imagine another Madison/Surtain combo in the backfield. That is what is so exciting.

Enough chatter... My point for posting this is to see what you guys all think about our season. Please don't allow the homer in all of us to rear its head right now. My question to you is simple. Do the Dolphins win over or under 7 games? Please elaborate below.

i think we'll

win more than 7. how many more depends on how we start the season. it will be very difficult to start out slow, and make up ground like we did last year. with a good start, anything could happen.

Our division

Is what gives me a bit of a scare. I just don’t see us winning more than 2 or 3 games in the Division. For sure we can win 1 vs the Jets, if not 2. 1 vs the Bills is likely. I just don’t see beating NE. They truly are a great team.

For discussion sake, we won 11 games. But against what caliber teams. And we won a ton of games by a few points. While a win is a win, we definitely had some close calls. I just still can’t see us winning less than 7…

success is contagious! have one bad, bad, bad year (1-15) then go 11-5 and win the division, everyone plays that much harder and stays that much more focused that it rubs onto the new guys

There is no way that happens with the hardest season they had in like ever.
They will wins some games not against my Pats.
I know they can best the bills and probably split with the Jets.
But also steelers and chargers nope.

now now tifo.. to be fair they woped us pretty good as well. one game last year. though i do see his homer showing just a little bit.. but then again as a fan of any team dont we all have a bit of homer in us. “slips his hands down the front of his pants and cracks open a beer”

Too true, but his arrogance was showing through. (beyond homer). Can't even concede maybe a split again.

I think there is a better than even chance of sweeping the JJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJets and split with Bills & Patsies. Like I said, I would put money on 10-6. Just hoping that gets us into the playoffs.

If this is actually a line in LV, I need to get there fast. This Miami team is ready to roll. Consider that without a decent secondary, JP almost led the NFL in sacks. What do you think is going to happen when we actually have a good shut down secondary and safeties that can hit?

how many of you are tired of hearing the “strenght of schedule” BS? i know i am. you can say all you want about teams in our division. but ya know what……there not leaving. so if the dolphins want to accomplish anything this year or in the near future, our division is where they need to start. im tired of all the bitch’n and moan’n about brady and the pats. T.O. and the bills, Rex Ryan and the jets. we have a tough schedule …..so eff’n what? the steelers had the toughest schedule in the nfl last year and what did they do? played close low scoring games and won them. mean nasty football, run down your throat football, were to tough to quit and to bad to be beaten football. we won several close games last year. it wasnt by some parcells monkey dust. we beat the teams we were supposed to beat….period. 4 or 5 in a row at some points. when i look at this years schedule im not worried….lets see….afc east then who??? an aging carolina team? atlanta, decent but no better than us…we play the colts (at home) come on guys, what is going on here? these arent great teams. i think sparano has implanted a kick thier ass or i’ll kick yours attitude . miami puts the kabash on the AFC east and bullies there way to the play-offs. 2-0 against the bills, 2-0 against the jets, 1-1 w/ the pats. 5-1 in the east. they are tougher than your daddy’s dolphins. wild cat or no wild cat miami retains the title. all you half-in, half-out phin fans. put your march’n boots on baby were goin to WAR!
