Dolphins sign 7th round pick J.D. Folsom

Scout.com's Adam Caplan is reporting that the Dolphins have come to terms with LB J.D. Folsom - the team's 7th round draft pick.

Folsom's deal is for 4 years and is reportedly worth $1.812 million - including $62,000 in guaranteed money.

Folsom is expected to be in a battle just for a practice squad spot at inside linebacker. At 6'3, 230, he doesn't possess the prototypical size that this regime is believed to like at linebacker. But he has good speed and projects more as a special-teams player than anything else at the next level.

This makes four draft picks now under contract - with John Nalbone, Andrew Gardner, and Patrick Turner being the other three. It's also believed that the Dolphins are close to a deal with safety Chris Clemons.

If I remember correctly,

everyone was signed by training camp except for Henne.

i think clemons could be the sleeper of this class

Yep

With you on that one….though it is going to be hard to crack the line-up when you got Wilson and Bell smashing everyone in sight. Nickel spot goes to either Davis or Smith, who ever doesnt win the starting job. Hope Clemons can make an impact on Special Teams…was definitely the achilles heel last year.

I'm gonna be honest.....

Who??!! This is purely a special teams..Larry Izzo kinda pick if you ask me. 7th rd…if he makes the team and starts on kickoffs to me thats a HR.

I still cant figure out the 7th rd this yr….its almost like we were in the final rd of a fantasy baseball draft…and we were like…uhhhh yea whatever im over this. even he was like WTF? I was drafted?

Its cool…the rest of the draft was nice. I really like the Gardner value…thats solid value for a huge man that plays an expensive spot.

Folsom has a better career than Eddie Moore i bet…..that shows you the diffrence in regimes right there.

Maybe we can just send him in as a goon….just to get personal fouls late in Jets blowout victories.
