Video Time: Dolphins vs 49ers 2008
We've reached week 15 now with our look back at the 2008 season - "video time" style. This was another one of those games that were a lot closer than they should have been. But a win is a win - no matter how you get them.
I got three videos for you here. The first is of Chad Pennington's two touchdown passes. The second is a brief video of two Ronnie Brown runs from the fourth quarter. And the last video is of Joey Porter sealing the game and then tossing his helmet.
All three videos are after the jump.
Have a great weekend, all!

GD, that Joey Porter is FAST!!!
Out of a 3-point stance, nonetheless.
What a freak. Glad he’s on my side these days.

Ronnie Brown looked like he was wound up that game.
He needed more than 10 carries, maybe that’s why the game was so close.

yup
I think he NEEDS 20+ carries per game. And even 20 carries per game is just 320 for the season in a 16 game season. That seems like a good figure to aim for – not too many but not too few.

Agreed.
They need to feed Ronnie this year. Let Ricky WIlliams keep him from being worn out but yes, at least 20 carries a game.

When Peezy threw his helmet off,
I went ballistic with excitement! He had more than a handful of great plays in 2008, but that helmet throw helps make it one of my favorite plays for Peezy. I can see how some people can see it as unsportsmanlike, but I don’t think that was his intention. He just had an avalanche of excitement pumping and he had to let it out.
Great vids

Also, about the Ronnie videos....
I read in an article recently that when Ronnie got video tapes of all his runs last year, he was able to see in certain runs where he thought he could have done a bit more in the runs saying he wasn’t yet 100% recovered. If you watch his second run in the video, the way he goes down isn’t like his usual running style. I think a 100% Ronnie could have definitely gotten at least another yard or two out of that rush. Can’t wait to see him next year… and God please give him more carries!

I like it when he does his [kick it out of here] after a great play.. !
.. but the the first time I’ve seen him throw his helment… classic, absolutely classic!!!

This brings back great memories..
WE flew down from CT to see this game, and the stadium atmosphere was electric!!!! My buddy who was a niner fan was talking so much shit before the game, but i shut his ass up once the final seconds ticked off the clock. It was a great game, great momentum builder, and it really showed the fortitude, and moxy that this team played with. Great find on the videos!!!!

long time reader first time poster.
good evening fellow phins fanatics. watching these vids and reading your guys responces. i got to say seems no one commented on chads play. what a difference he made in our team huh?? even in the ronnie brown run. he thru a block to help ronnie get those yards. granted he didnt plow the guy or anything but he slowed him down enough for ronnie to get by him. after all aint that what a block is all about. and one mroe thing you guys all sang the praises of porter but over looked the best part of that video as well.. the cheerleaders at the end ;op. hehe just kidding not really and thanks for letting me post

… I also know that you’re calling me out. I sorry you feel that way.
I’m not going to explain myself cause someone interprets or makes inferance everytime I write. Especially if it’s not to whom I’m directing my comments.
You started this anyway, Mr Sensitivity.

I have no idea what your talking about
“calling you out” I responded to Animal2020, to make sure he knew I was talking about CP being left on our door step and not him, and then YOU chime in and compare one of them, I don’t know which, to a lit bag of crap on someones doorstep, and I didn’t want to be part of it, cuz truthfully I HAVE NO CLUE what you meant by it, it just didn’t sound good.
So don’t blame me for starting anything, and as far as being sensitive, check your mirror.

You had no clue, but you chimed in with...
… you “didn’t consider him a bag-o-shit.” Made me feel like you’re asking (calling) me to explain, or a soft way of seeing if I did consider someone a bag-o-shit.
You have a strange way of “not wanting to be a part of it”.
Why do you see the negative in what I write? I’m not calling anyone a bag of anything…. I just said it’s like that prank, then explained the prank. The only comparison was the prank itself to the descriptive comments made by you and animal 2020.
You say you have no clue in what i wrote, but somehow you feel to say you want no part of it. You make me feel that what I wrote as unsavory. By that, uncle, I feel you put me in a negative light, when I meant no offensive at all.

Your right
I was trying to give you a chance to explain your self, I wasn’t calling or asking, I was just leaving you an opening to explain; “Except I don’t consider him a bag of shite:>)” see the smiley on the end, no anger there, just an open opportunity to refute it, which in truth is what I expected you to do.
“The only comparison was the prank itself to the descriptive comments made by you and animal 2020.” we were talking about 2 people on a doorstep, what did you mention on a door step?and then this; “Is this the same? Kinda?”
IDK sorry Alpha it does not sound good, we all write stuff that comes out the wrong way and gets misunderstood, and because of it we have to qualify what we said, and only you can qualify what you say, and what you said sounded unsavory, so I left you an opening to refute it, cuz I thought we were friends, so the ball is still in your court.

yep that was the prank i was refering to. lol but yes chad kinda ended up with us the same way. i loved it. i was excited when he came to us. i saw Glimpes of his good playing on the jets. and they say he cant go to years with back to back good seasons. but i say that had alot to do with the jets team itself and not so much chad. i mean come on any QB that gets knocked on his butt gam ein and gam e out will get hurt. no way around it. but with the way we are preparing our guys now i bet he will really come around.
i know folks are clammering to get henne in there. but to me if it aint broke then why fix it??lets just see how far penny will take us. i would love to see those fans eat there words who say he cant take us to the big game.

please fellas
dont fight please. yes it was ment as a joke only. and yes when i first read what finster wrote i thought he ment me. which is fine by me i dont mind a good ribbing at all. but in no way did i mean to cause a problem between you both.
i agree. as long as they are both playing as they are now or getting better then we keep them as long as we can. but i do think with ricky saying he only wants to play another year or two. then keeping ronnie will be even more important. it will be then i think that you start seeing all those carries that we want ronnie to get. untill then i think they keep him as fresh and injury free as they can with rickyt splitting the carries. and i like that idea alot. feels like the best way to get the most out of your players.look at some of the other backs in the lueage. they get ran into the ground.. spend the last of their playing years struggling thru injuries trying to stay on form as long as they can. if yo ucan get a few more years of production out of a back then they normally get then to me that is a dang good thing.

Wow Martin...
I don’t know if I’m imagining things but it seems to me like Martin was doing an outstanding job last season, popping up in clutch situations….. and he doesn’t seem to get much mention as a “lock” this year….anyone else?

Martin had some key grabs for us last year. But his hernia surgery has kept him out of offseason work. And with Haynos and Nalbone around, I’m not so sure Martin is a lock for the team.
