Too often I get a friggin thought stuck in my rattlin head and have no idea how to get it out.  Over the last few days I was reminded of a national program I saw on TV which included a segment on a former Dolphin that was down on his luck, to say the least.  I'm pretty sure it was either Real Sports or INside the NFL about 5-6 years ago. I tried googling but nothing came up.  I don't believe he was on the championship teams, but could have started his career in the early 70's. He had one hardship after another and was battling substance abouse. I'm pretty sure he was battling alcohol. He was not a famous player, but the Miami commuity was rallying to help him out.

Does this make any sense to anyone?? I can't put my finger on who this guy was and I'm starting to think I made it all up...

* Maybe there was something us low-life bloggers could do to help these guys out as a community. I was in comtact with John Hannah  trying to help the retired players in need of additional medical insurance, but was surprised to find that they are not receptive to charity from the fans. I am sure there are former players battling demons who could really use our help, somebody's help regardless of where it comes from.
