Vote for your All-Phinsider Team- Defense

First off, let me thank all of you for voting in the nominating the Offense Players for your All-Phinsider Team. Here is your chance to vote for your Favorite Defense Players. A reminder... although it is tempting, I encourage all of you to vote for NO Dolphin players in order to keep it consistent. I admit it's going to be difficult to look at DE and not think of JT dancing around in spandex, but I HOPE you can find a player that earns your respect from any of the other 31 teams. If you simply cannot handle this task, feel free to put a miami player, although they won't be mentioned on the Final Defensive APT.

Here we go...

DE: Julius Peppers- Does anyone else remember this guy being absolutely insane at UNC? At the time he was my favorite player in college football and he also played for the Tar Heels Bball team. Simply put, this guy is a monster and I would love to see him be JT's replacement on Miami.

DE: Mario Williams- Super Mario gained NO respect in the 2006 Draft as Reggie Bush's shadow. Yet, after a slow rookie season, the guy has racked up 26 sacks in his last two seasons.

DE: Jared Allen- Although I like Mario and Peppers much better, Allen reminds me as one of those crazy white guys, you just wouldn't want to line up against. I like his personality and his reckless style.

DT: John Henderson- This is a video of how John Henderson prepares. For a charity flag football game.

DT: Shaun Rogers- Since Warren Sapp retired, and Sir Albert can be a SirAsshole (can you imagine if Goddell was commish during that?), I'd have to go with the 350 lb. big boy who's 30 years old and still eating offensive linemen for breakfast.

OLB: James Harrison- I can't go with Peezy here, so I'll go with the guy who due to his consisent play all year, probably rightfully deserved the Defensive POTY honors. If it wasn't for his pick in the SB, we may have called the Cardinals the NFL Champs. How did they not tackle him!!?!!?

OLB: Derrick Johnson- Watched this guy as a longhorn and he stood out as much as he did on the chiefs. He may be the only guy on that team that can tackle.

ILB: Patrick Willis- Any guy who terrorized the Gators in college gets my vote. This guy tackles everything in sight.

ILB: Demeco Ryans- I wish I could go Zach here but i'll use my vote for another young guy who seems everywhere at once.

CB: Cortland Finnegan- an INT machine. Dude's got serious skills.

CB: Asante Samuel- I know, he's hurt us before. But the guy's got a great talent and is probably the best UCF player to play in the pros so far.

CB: Champ Bailey- This bulldog was traded heads up for Clinton Portis, and honestly I believe Denver got the better end of the deal. In 10 years of service, he's racked up 43 picks.

FS: Ed Reed- Need I say more? Probably the most explosive, exciting defense players I have ever seen. And he's from the U. Peep the video...

SS: Troy Polamalu- I probably would go Gibril Wilson here, no lie, I loved the guy on the G-Men. But I love Troy's style and he has made some of the most athletic plays and he covers ground VERY quickly to deliver some knockout hits. Plus I love the hair.

That's all folks....You will have approximately 1 week to vote, wherein I will announce your All-Phinsider Defense Selections. Try to use the format I have provided above to make it easier to tally votes (3 DE, 2 DT, 2 OLB, 2 ILB, 3 CB, 1 FS, 1 SS)

Vote well.

LOLOLOL

Oh not too much, much too much
Closetfinfan is my brother, we follow each others teams pretty close, but I really do love how they run that oganization, not to mention at the first NFL meeting, which took place on the fenders of some cars in the parking lot of a stadium, there was a Rooney there, that team is inextricably linked to the fabric of this fantastic sport.

Ed Reed is my Brian Dawkins for finsx.

Dude is UNREAL. He doesn’t have a position. He just walks on the field, lines up where he thinks he needs to (is always right about it), and always ends up being the first or second one to the ball at the end of the play.

If I had to put a name to his position – Centerfielder. He just roams and plays.
