Roster Roulette Part 2: Defense
Here is the second part in the hit Miami Dolphins internet series: Roster Spot Roulette. Predicting who will survive the cuts is trickier than the offense because there is so much depth on the defensive side, and Sparano utilizes that depth for special teams. Let's take a crack at it anyway!
Defensive Ends: Philip Merling, Kendall Langford
Defensive Tackle: Jason Ferguson
Outside Linebackers Left: Joey Porter
Outside Linebackers Right: Matt Roth
Middle Linebackers: Channing Crowder, Akin Ayodele
Cornerbacks: Will Allen, Sean Smith
Strong Safety: Yeremiah Bell
Free Safety: Gibril Wilson
Here is the rest of the defense:
Defensive Ends: Tony McDaniel, Lionel Dotson, Randy Starks
Defensive Tackles: Paul Solia,
Linebackers: Jason Taylor, Cameron Wake, Charlie Anderson, Reggie Torbor, Erik Walden
Cornerbacks: Vontae Davis, Eric Green, Nathan Jones,
Safeties: Tyrone Culver, Chris Clemons, Jason Allen
So there it is, my picks for the players that will make it on the defensive roster. I had to cut down the number of linebackers to four instead of six because of the need for the specialists on the roster. Here is something for you guys to mull on, the Dolphins might cut long snapper John Denney in order to keep another tight end or linebacker on the roster. Tomorrow I will lay out the special teams players, and to wrap up the roster roulette, I will pick the seven players that will make up the practice squad.

So how many players are we going to have on our team ??????
If you add up the number of players on both of your roster roulette we are already at 54!!!!
This isn’t including the Punter and Place Kicker and on top of that what are you smoking to think we would cut our long snapper
If you put it all together the team will probably be short one or two WR and CB that you have kept on the squad to make the magic 53 number

Here's my attempt at predicting the Offense (and Defense) to make 53. It's HARD!
I’m going with 5 CBs understanding that Chris Clemons could play a nickel safety role.
I think Eric Green STINKS
Keep some extra CBs on the practice squad.
