Dolphins release two players

PrintWith the bulk of the offseason activity in the books (only one OTA day remains) prior to training camp, the Dolphins have to make some cuts to get down to 80 players - the maximum per team heading into training camp. To do that, the Dolphins made two cuts today - according to the team's official site. The two cut were CB Scorpio Babers and P Jy Bond.
That should bring Miami's roster down to 82 players - meaning two more cuts are to be expected prior to the beginning of training camp. Either that or the Dolphins will place two players onto the PUP list.

Who do we think the two players will be?
Two cut or two PUPed players…?
Is there a minimum requirement for the player to be on PUP or can you take them on and off when they feel like it? For example can Donald Thomas be PUPed for now, then when healthy unPUPed during mini camp and the Fins would cut another player?

I believe during camp, you can put on and take off people at will.
But when they are on, they can’t practice.

Once they are designated as such, they are prohibited from practicing with the team. They can, however, rehabilitate and participate in team meetings. If a player begins training camp on the PUP list, they can be moved to the active roster at any time, even after one practice. A player is not allowed to be placed on the PUP list if they start training camp on the active roster.
As long as they are hurt now they can be put on PUP. Once camp starts it’s no practice until off PUP (unless you subscribe to the alleged Belichek school of practice).

I love the fact that musical roster spots isnt really going down this year….that means most of the team is set with guys this fron office like/love….and they arent looking for crappy scraps…just nice pickups here and there..
I keep hearing the Cheifs will trade/trade Brian Winters…rated a top 20 OG last yr. And a crappy columnist named Armando pointed out we have the need…and Pioli/Parcells are likely to make trades….also he will come kinda cheap. I like that pickup…as a bridge to Thomas or someone in the future.

Can any of these not be stashed on the practice squad?
But I don’t think we need any more competition at TE although Parcells does like him some TE’s so you never know.
We are potentially a bit think at S, so you never know.
We have got bodies at DE especially as the whole Starks incident seems to have blown over, so thats another risky area.
But as stated elsewhere it all depends upon free agents and trades, the front office is always turning over rocks, so expect alot of churn

So Sir Vincent Rogers your Defence (looked up that he was a OT, so that is more accurate), would be funnier to a Brit, but amusing non the less.

remember that 7th rd pick….we traded for next yrs 7th rd pick? Wouldnt he have been an OK gamble to take with a pick u dont want? He punted/Kicked at FSU and he was more money than any kicker I have ever seen in my life. He was picked up as a free agent by the Ravens…i guarantee he kicks with someone next year.

he is just as good as janikowski….sebastian just got all the pub cuz of his looks. Gano is a robot…he was always reliable as shit…even in the pouring rain a few times.
Fields might be ok…but this dude can do both outstanding and thats good to have in case

Kickers?
I’ve never understood why we don’t have more double duty kickers like Gano in the NFL. I was a keeper back in the day (CGHS 4A state runner-up 1997). Needless to say as a keeper you punt and kick and I am not so sure it would be hard to transfer over into football. If I didn’t move on to Cross Country after my freshman year I would’ve continued to kick through high school (not a hard job). It would cut down on salary and a roster spot. Maybe I need to see if I still got it?

Has Miami signed their draft picks yet? I didn’t think so. If that’s the case they’ll have to make more cuts than two to get down to 80 after they sign those guys…
