Let's Boycott Peter King

You guys ever notice how openly biased Peter King is? I've read him every Monday morning on CNNSI for I don't know how long and typically during the season he offers some interesting insights. But this off-season has been nothing but an absolute Patriots blowfest. The guy is from Mass, so it's not shocking. But in just the last three weeks he had a MMQB article talking about the Patriots with Brady back and how stellar they will be, then the next day had his SI story on Brady's return come out in their magazine. The following week we got Rodney Harrison unplugged, the exclusive we all wanted with a cheating, cheap-shotting, HGH-taking punk who Peter King loves for calling out Peyton Manning. This week he complains about it being a slow news week, tells us how the Donovan McNabb deal will affect Tom Brady's contract talks and then gives us a large book list. I only mention this because I kind of hoped to hear Si's seniormost NFL writer (now that Dr. Z is on the shelf with medical issues) write about Rex Ryan and Channing Crowder having a media war. Because I couldn't remember that happening before, as he said it was a slow news week and maybe I'm a bit of megalomaniac but I thought that was a pretty good story nationally. Yet it got no coverage. Ryan's comment about Belichek did though. In fact he hasn't mentioned Miami since a blurb after the draft. All I'm asking is do you think Miami's really that boring this offseason or do you think maybe Peter just didn't spend time on that because it involves two teams he doesn't particularly care for (Dolphins-Jets)?

you have a problem. Why would you go to CNNSI when you have Matty giving you all the info you need, with additonal info from the Phinsider bloggers? We dont need that DH’s commentary, IMHO.

I agree.

Go to the “Kissing Suzy Kolber” website. It’s pretty offensive at times, and often NSFW, but each week they deconstruct King’s “analysis” in hysterical fashion. That’s the only way I’ll read him. As for a boring offseason: Good. Boring off-seasons usually make for good regular seasons. You can get all your important and relevant Dolphins news right here.

Go Dolphins.

If I had a tagline, this would be it.

I agree with Lefty & Finster....

He never covered the Dolphins as you’d think someone in his position would/should.

Patriot blowfest by Peter King about sums it up for me….

Meh...

I agree peter is pro patsy… or the certain players that give him the most access…. likely the reason he doesn’t do much with miami….

but are you seriously saying that the CC – RR war of words should trump the “return of the best player in the game”??? i suspect most people would question his football acumen if he DIDN’T Cover brady’s return.

Peter King is an entertaining writer, hence the reason I read him, but my expectations for dolphin news for him is pretty low and that’s why i read the sun, the herald, & the palm online, let alone bang heads with my fellow myopians around these parts.

peter king talks the pats

as he should, the patriots are amidst a dynasty as long as they have brady and bellicheat.
the best QB in the world is obviously gonna get a lot of national news.

i never miss MMQB, though i do skim it more during the offseason. king has a lot of great insight, great stats, and he does his research. now i don’t always agree with his opinions, but you don’t have to when reading information. if you only want to read stuff strictly praising the dolphins, stick to the numerous blogs created for such a reason.

It's still a dynasty?

Some one may want to tell them that they haven’t won a SB in 5 years, and the Steelers have won 2 in that span, you Patriot fans really stick together:>)

LOL, "the best QB in the world"? P-A-L-E-E-Z!!!
if you only want to read stuff strictly praising the dolphins

Isn’t that what Peetee is doing by strickly praising the Patsies? These writers are all attached to some overall sports network (ESPN, SI, FOX, etc) and should refrain from bias, but there is always some kind heavy lean to a team they like or dislike… which shows it’s difficult to control emotions, but through a proof read, one could medigate these slants.

Just doesn’t happen enough is all I’m saying…

PS: if you’re gonna be part of the Patriots blowfest, please remove your “orandegadsdenshands” call sign. You’re not respecting either team with it.

i've disrespected, the patriot'smy hole life.

if you please, even back in the 70’s those fool’s alway’s made a speckical of them selve’s. even back in 1985 i read somewere in there tabloid’s we garentee a victory over chicago the bear team didn’t respond, now that realy must’ave been hard. but then i watched the superbowl shuffel, when it came out. someone said it was made before the game was even played, just in case some one was to have gotten hurt.

hah

umm, im not a patriots fan at all,, but i can be objective and admit they have the best qb in the world. am i supposed to think that pennington & henne are better just because they are dolphins? sure some will say peyton manning is the best, but to me its not even close, i’d much rather build a team around brady than manning.

i dont get how saying Brady is the best QB makes me a pats fan & part of a “blowfest” ????
if i were still in grade three i might believe that tom brady and randy moss “suck” just because i am a dolphins fan, but that seems a little short sighted for an adult.

no one, i said nothing about peen & hen were better or worse; i said if & only if Brady get’s hit 5 time’s he wont get back in to get hit a 6th. he’s a hafe hit away from deaster…..

You Missed my Point

My point was never that Peter King shouldn’t cover the Pats. It was that he only covers the Pats. I don’t know where in your deep analysis of what I wrote you gathered that I thought the Ryan-Crowder tiff was bigger than Brady returning. I said that the last two weeks (if you had given me the benefit of the doubt instead of assuming your smarter than I am you may have connected this) when he’s discussed Rodney Harrison transforming into a great TV analyst (and then attempted to prove Harrison was statistically more deserving of the 2004 Pro Bowl than John Lynch, which sounds like a Pats homer to me). And then this week he provides and update as to how McNabb’s contract extension will affect Brady’s even though Brady is still under contract. The Brady story was before Crowder and Ryan ever started with it, I just figured if you’re going to give New England five pages in three weeks, you could give Miami a blurb. And I love the idea that I should get my Dolphins knowledge from here. Hello, I’m writing a fan post on a Dolphins blog. I personally like to get a non-biased perspective from people who don’t love the Dolphins too. I mean I love you guys but let’s be honest, we’re all very biased. All I was saying was you’d think Peter King could briefly stop fellating Bill Belichek, wipe Brady’s splooge from his chin and do his job as SI’s foremost NFL writer, cover the NFL. I never said Brady returning wasn’t a big story, I got why that got covered (even if it was over covered, he threw passes in shorts, people, but I understood). A full page and a half interview with Rodney Harrison isn’t a bigger news story though, that’s just unbridled Pats love and Rodney Harrison was a cheater.
