Roster Roulette Part 1: Offense
Ok, so this whole weekend I was reviewing player performances, and how the players could fit into the Dolphins plans. Then I came across the idea of predicting which players will make the team that are on the roster right now. Let's start out with the offensive starters, and over the next couple of days, we will cover the offense, defense, and special teams.
Quarterback: Chad Pennington
Running Back: Ronnie Brown
Full Back: Lousaka Polite
Wide Receivers: Ted Ginn Jr. Greg Camarillo
Tight End: Anthony Fasano
Left Tackle: Jake Long
Left Guard: Justin Smiley
Center: Jake Grove
Right Guard: Donald Thomas (if he gets healthy in time. If not...) Shawn Murphy
Right Tackle: Vernon Carey
Here is the rest of the offense:
Quarterbacks: Chad Henne, Pat White
Running Backs: Ricky Williams, Patrick Cobbs
Full Backs: None
Wide Receivers: Davone Bess, Patrick Turner, Brian Hartline, Anthony Armstrong
Tight Ends: David Martin, Joey Haynos, John Nalbone
Offensive Lineman: Joe Berger, Brandon Frye, Ikechuku Ndukwe, Nate Garner, Andy Alleman.
I left out Ernest Wilford and Brandon London, because there are three better tight ends than Wilford, and the Dolphins already signed Nalbone, so they obviously see something in him that they like. I think they will cut London for two reasons. Last year he made the roster through special teams. This year they drafted Brian Hartline, who specializes in special teams and is a possession receiver. Also, London possessed elite size, which was another reason why he was attractive to the Phinz. Well, the Dolphins also drafted Patrick Turner, who is also pretty big for a receiver. Turner is also turning heads, while London is disappointing, and has been invisible at times throughout the various OTA's. While London and Wilford are on the ropes, pretty much all of the starting unit from last year are returning for another shot at the AFC East title. Coming tomorrow is the defensive roster.
Give me suggestions on where I went wrong, or give me some compliments on my awesome physic abilities!

our 6th round pick Andrew Gardner
He will make the team as the OT backup. I heard some good things coming out of davie on him this offseason and we have no depth at OT anyway so there is a real good shot he makes it.
I also agree w A Armstrong as everyday I feel like I hear good things about him

I really thought about Gardner..
And I will probably add him to my revised edition at the very end, but adding him to the roster only would have left like 15, 16, or 17 roster spots left for the defense, and seeing as how the secondary and linebackers have a lot of guys competing, I figured I would leave more room for them. I also thought that Gardner would make the practice squad.

28 players on O is a high number
that leaves 22 for the D, unless they find a player in our rotation to replace Denny, then its 23.
Thats not enough.

If that's true, then who's out on this offensive list?
I thought it was good, except I think the team only carries three TE’s instead of four.

The question isn't who's out on O
but who’s out on D, 22 isn’t enough period. 10 or 11 DBs, 14 to 16 up front, Sparano has already stated that he would LIKE to keep extra LBs for special teams, my guess, 26 defense 24 offense 3 specialty.
3 QBs, 3 RBs, 1 FB, 3 TEs, 5 WR and 9 O-line, thats the same as last year with 1 less O-lineman.
As of right now, our deepest squad appears to be LB, and a log jam at CB, if we keep more on 1 side of the ball this year IMO it will be D, last year 25 O and 25 D:>)

WR, OL & TE
Its pretty straight forward who will be on the lineup day one in terms of starters and what not with the only position up for grabs being RG.
With that being said I think that a couple players that our on your roster will be kept on the Practice Squad with the most likely being Armstrong, and Nalbone. I also think that London would make the squad over Armstrong due to his ability to play ST
