Secondary, Upgraded or Not?
After hearing Chris Clemons, Sean Smith and Vontae all doing well in minicamp thus far, do you think our secondary's been upgraded? Are these guys immeadeat pro's or are they a bunch inexpeirenced pre-rookies? In my opinion sounds like we'll be better prepared for T.O. and Moss later in the season. God, I can't wait to see Smith pickin' off Sanchez and covering T.O. Of course we can't exactly see the future so make your predictions!

i really think
that we have upgraded, but until they play in a game, it’s a crapshoot

Just the fact that
there are more young bodies there is an upgrade. Yes, for sure.

Well said
That’s what I was going to put. Just adding players for back there should be an upgrade. We were hurting there last year.

Not entirely true.
If you get a new player and he sucks, is that an upgrade? Just having a new player isn’t entirely an upgrade.

Nay!
Any empty position(s) better filled by a 1st & 3rd pick will help. It’s gotta be an upgrade.
Larry Little and I both wore 66 in our football careers. I think that means something.

Well,
what if the player just sat there in the field? What if he couldn’t tackle he dropped balls, just having a player isn’t an upgrade.

They'll need to step up immediately
Andre Goodman had a career year last year, and the secondary still wasn’t great. Hopefully these rookies can step in, help each other, and exceed the level of performance from last year, but there are no guarantees, especially since he of our great disdain is back (Tom Brady).

I really do think aside from Bell that we upgraded Im not a big fan of both Allens anyway
Wilson was a great pickup and Smith and Vonte IMO even though we have not played a season game yet are more physical than any corner we have in our roster so far I see good things comming from these two.

I hope Wilson will be good
But his coverage metrics are the reason the Giants didn’t pursue a new contract the last year. And he didn’t look particularly great last year in Oakland.

If Wilson can't cover...
You got Clemons waiting to light some Receivers up, because from what I heard from the press conferences he can cover a lot of field and deliver a blow when he gets there. Not saying he’s the perfect safety, but any of these guys with a high motor and they want to be physical are going to find a spot on this team. I trust in Sparano to fix the mental mistakes.

Jason Allen
is going to be fantastic this year now that he’s sticking to a position. In the 2nd half of the season, we might just see Jason Allen and Sean Smith starting.
