good to see them wanting to turn to henne…but bad if we are out of playoffs

Lets just stick to what we can control, and thats supporting our QB whoever that is. There is not one guy in here that is going to have the CP10 vs. Henne decision on his hands or even get their opinion asked.

Id agree with that if it happened. At that point you have to see why you spent a 2nd rd pick….you didnt spend it for his personality and clipboard skills.

I love me some CP10…but we have a future…and at that point itll be obvious its time to plan for it.

That’s not new news, really. But what is interesting is that George thinks the “tipping point” could come as early as November. But for that to happen, the Dolphins have to really get off to a poor start.

We’ll have played 11 games by the end of November, even if we’re 5 and 6, a 5 game win streak would bring us to 10 and 6, and a possible wild card birth, or depending how the rest of the AFC east doing, we might not even need that many wins, we all have to play the same schedule pretty much, so if its hard for us, its hard for them.

unless a team is 0-7 and someone not named cam is coaching it’s hard to tell a team they aren’t in the playoff hunt. and by that i mean a team that is 4-7 is still in the hunt to it’s players anyways. unfortunately we’ve been down this road before. it’s much easier and much better for the team to change QB’s for game 1 then it is for game 9…. plus looking at the schedule, with a LONG stretch of road games from the middle of the season to the end of the year, there really isn’t a good spot late to put him in. So as much as sparano and company haven’t been afraid to make changes to the lineup, i really don’t see henne playing unless the team starts 0-3 or 0-4.

i’d like to be proven wrong, but i’m pretty much resigned to seeing the team play with one arm tied behind it’s back for another season with the lame ducker.

the thing is people think cp helps the team so much that we will get an extra 3-4 wins. Sure last year he was great for us, but our team is youthful but they have experience. We have more tools on offense and a better cast. and if the hope is to be contenders in 2010 do you really want to go into that season with a question mark at qb? Start Henne right now and go through what ever growing pains there will be…and who says he cant come in and be better than cp? he has the mindset and he’s much more gifted. Offense = more explosive with him.

it isn’t so clear cut in the NFL that a team is obviously out of the playoffs. Sure the cam-cam jokes will follow (and I will enjoy them!) but for instance, the chargers were 4-8 last year and thought to be absolutely dead. 5 games later they had won their division, knocked off Indy in the wildcard and traveling to Pittsburgh for the divisional playoff. Meanwhile our favorite patsy’s in NY were 8-3 before we knocked them off and ‘retired’ Favre for good :) :) :)

I also think that regardless of the team’s win-loss record, you just have to look at Quarterback play. If CP isn’t playing well, then it really would behoove us to replace him even if we were say, 6-5 or the like.

By now we all know that the QB road for the dolphins is quickly narrowing. Unless CP and the fins make a deep playoff run, then Henne will be the starter next year – or sooner if things go bad.
