Plax another WR who would LOVE to play for the Phins

Former Giants receiver Plaxico Burress, who has a residence in Miami, has told people he would love to join the Dolphins if his legal problems are resolved. The Jets and Buccaneers are reportedly interested. Burress will appear in court next month and faces the possibility of a 3 ½ year sentence for carrying an unlicensed firearm.

WOW! this is great, the Dolphins off an amazing turn around, the Miami-Herald is stating, that Plaxico has told friends he would love to play for the Phins. Give him a one-year contract (maybe 2), based on behavior and certain invectives. He will come very cheap... Lets do this!

I'd take a flyer on him

For the right price of cource.

Becasue he came out and said he would like Miami, this may mean a hometown discount.

He has never really had locker room issues. I follwed him closely because I had him on my fantacy team. He made one really stupid act, but that really was it.

We have enough vocal leaders in the locker room(Porter, Pennington, Taylor, etc.) that would put people in line and the cheif pubba(BP) himself as well.

Give him 2 yrs-2.5mil guaranteed/year plus bonus.

I don’t know about someone who shot themselves in the leg, and I don’t think BP would ever entertain this.

He will probably go to jail for one year. Even if he receives a shorter jail term, Plax is in line for a hefty suspension which would be a deterrent to an NFL team signing him with 2009 in mind. His next football game will likely be in 2010, at which point he will be 33 years old.

AFTER the gun charge, Plaxico Burress reportedly unleashed a “string of profanities” at a deputy sheriff in Florida. Plax was pulled over for “erratic driving” near Fort Lauderdale on March 18 and proceeded to try to bully the officer with a “violent and aggressive attitude.”

Plax had been hit with four driving violations in Florida just two weeks earlier.

he would LOVE to play for anybody willing to sign him. Let’s ask every single FA on the market if they would like to play for the Dolphins. I’ll bet 100% say “yeah, I’d love to play for Miami.” It’s a non-story.

the only things that make Jones interesting are that it appears he is definitely avoiding jail and suspension, and that he did not violate his mandated drug program, which means that so far, he is pretty much staying out of trouble. He might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but it doesn’t look like he is a repeat offender “per se”….. yet.
Jones? Sign him cheap, cut him if he screws up.

I'm not even going to entertain this thought until his legal crap is squared away.

There’s a good chance Burress is facing some jail time – to be followed with a league suspension. Until all that gets cleared up, no need to even discuss this.
