Seems to be more bad judgment than bad or chronically bad character

13 people in a 4 person vehicle and one of them is 6-3 305
I’ve heard of a designated driver, but that’s ridiculous
Appears it might only have been accidental…trying to hit the brake in a crowded car with somebody sitting on your lap is not easy…not that I would know…

Yep lets find out the other side of the story...

Don’t assume that because it was a cop, Starks did a bad thing. sorry, but as a more libertarian minded person, if the overloaded car wasn’t driven by a drunk or something like that, the number of people in the car or truck is none of the cop’s business! I’ve been one of nine in the back of a VW bug car once!

I say get rid of him….he is very replaceable and it would be a valuable message to send the rest of the team.

ONE TIME…. you screw up…..thats it. no second chances so watch ur ass and make good adult decisions. Be a proffesional or you take the chance of being on the outside looking in…..

I believe in 2nd chances….but sometimes if your not that good you get made an example of. If he doesnt want to work 24/7 at being a better football player….then they will get someone who does.

Starks is valuable as a rotational DE

but he’s expendable. McDaniels can step right into the rotation, and Dotson could command some playing time as well. A 4-man DE rotation (Merling, Langford, McDaniels, Dotson) is fine. You rotate Soliai or Ellis with Ferguson, and you play some Nickel with Porter and JT at the ends during the game. We’ll be fine without him, so if he needs to be made an example of, there’s no problem from me.

Yea but your supposing a lot, Nicky

Dotson was no where near as good last year, inactive for 14 games, Starks started 4 games and practically split time with Langford the whole season, and he did a good job, there was no drop off when he came in.

Truth; Dotson wasn’t good enough to suit up for most of the games last year; Sparano had enough confidence to play Starks in any situation, goal line or third and 20, if it was his turn to be in, then it was his turn to be in, thats how much confidence Sparano had in him.

I hope McDaniel works out, but the fact is, he is coming to a new defense, playing a different position, has durability questions and his last team gave up on him, traded him for a 7th round pick, do you think we would have traded Starks for a 7th round pick?

McDaniel and/or Dotson may work out, and I hope they do, but remember what your asking, for two guys who were not as good as Starks last year, to replace him, and we are already missing our best DE from last year in Holliday.

IMO he is very important to our success next year, I hope this whole incident is overblown, and we don’t have to find out how we would do without him.

i said as much…lets see what the facts are. if its all true i say get rid of him….it would show the rest of the team we dont do that crap down here…and honestly we wouldnt miss him that much.

and he has done a couple of stupid things, everyone is entitled to a mistake or two.

As far as not missing him, he is what, our 2nd or 3rd best DE as of right now, if he is gone he will be missed.
