Beck4Mercy's Power Rankings
I may or may not comment on why the team is where they are. These are my power rankings, you should post your own if you would like. I haven't looked at a whole data base of free agent transactions, so anything I list/forget is from my memory.
1. Pittsburgh Steelers - Coming off a Super Bowl victory, they are not too far ahead of #2 and #3. I sense a downturn in their running game, unless Mendenhall is actually good.
2. New England Patriots - They didn't make the playoffs last year. But they went 18-0 a year before and they have the same offense skills players with possibly better RBs. However Randy Moss is a year older, this could be one of his last years being very effective, and Tom Brady may not be 100% (not just physically) on opening week.
3. Tennessee Titans - Had best record in the season last year. Lost Haynesworth, got a 1st round WR this year. Still have Lendale and Chris Johnson, offense could have made a big improvement.
4. Arizona Cardinals - Still have Boldin at this moment. Got Beanie Wells. Offense should be even better assuming Warner doesn't wear down and Boldin doesn't disrupt. They drafted defense so they could be a bit better there.
5. Philadelphia Eagles - They lost Dawkins, but got OL help (Jason Peters), a new WR, TE, and RB, Desean Jackson is one year older.
6. Atlanta Falcons - Matt Ryan should be better, meaning their offense got better without getting anyone. They got Peria Jerry and other people to build up the D.
7. New York Giants - I only put them here because they (hopefully) think they replaced Plaxico Burress. Otherwise I'd have to put them a few spots lower.
8. Miami Dolphins - Offense got new WRs and a new face at QB. Defense should have and improved Merling and a better LB set up than last year.
9. San Diego Chargers - Still have LT, who may or may not continue to go downhill (in a bad way). Don't know what to say about an underperforming team who I predict to underperform again.
10. Houston Texans - Went defense in first two rounds of draft. Entire offense is solid, except I am still not entirely sold on Matt Schaub, they need to get a seasoned vet if they don't have one backing him up.
11. Chicago Bears
12. Minnesota Vikings
13. Indianapolis Colts
14. Baltimore Ravens
15. Green Bay Packers
16. Cincinnati Bengals
17. Carolina Panthers
18. New Orleans Saints
19. Washington Redskins
20. Dallas Cowboys
21. Denver Broncos
22. Kansas City Chiefs
23. Buffalo Bills
24. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
25. Oakland Raiders
26. Seattle Seahawks
27. San Francisco 49ers
28. Jacksonville Jaguars
29. Cleveland Browns
30. St. Louis Rams
31. New York Jets
32. Detroit Lions

Whatever
I thought it was supposed to be an insult when you say they went 18-0?
I guess I should have thought twice before creating my profile's name.

Every year is different anything can happen
Dolphins fans can certainly atest to this after 2008. Just to think of how far this franchise has come in such a short period of time. Who knows how the 09 season will go what if i told you Detroit goes to the playoffs? because thats basically where Miami was not to long ago. I still don’t see the logic behind some of your rankings. As of right now ATL shouldn’t be in the top 10 and you have Cincy way ahead of Dallas even Carolina?? and i would at least put Indy in the top 10 not the Texans.

This is good Beck4....... I have on, but only the top ten...... cause I'm not informed enough for all 32 teams. So here goes...
1. Philadelphia Eagles – They are the team to beat this season! They got OL help in Jason Peters, a new WR, TE, and RB, so they may not feel the loss of Dawkins. Their defense will be enough. And with Andy Reid at the helm, they will do a great job on the offense.
2. Arizona Cardinals – Warner, Boldin and a phenomenal new running back in Chris "Beanie" Wells means the offense will score all they need to for a win. They also took defensive line and defensive back in the draft which means they are improved, at least on paper. Defensive End Cody Brown should be an interesting watch this year. And being that they were the runner-up in the Super Bowl, they aren’t doomed by winner’s curse of not repeating or even getting in the playoffs.
3. Atlanta Falcons – Matt Ryan should be better, and they got Tony Gonzalez as their starting Tight-End. On the defense, they drafted defense starting with Peria Jerry. They are the up-and-coming team this year. They will win their division.
4. Pittsburgh Steelers – Being the Super Bowl champs, they will fade as is the tradition for winning the National Title. They will be competitive, in the Pittsburgh tradition too, but it won’t get the there again. They will win their division, but loose in the playoffs.
5. Miami Dolphins – Their defensive back-field is 50% revamped and greatly improved. Their wide-receiver corp. got a boost and a freak athlete in the Wildcat formation. Run defense and pass rush with improved Phillip Merling, the addition of Cameron Wake and the return of the incomparable Jason Taylor will scare quite a few defensive coordinators. They will defend and win the division again.
6. New England Patriots – Tom Brady will be between 70 & 80 percent for the first half of the season. However, they will still be effective on offense, but not great. I predict Randy Moss will have a quiet year. They’re shoring up their defense, but Teddy Bruschi will be ineffective, as he has gotten old and slow. How old and how slow will be displayed this year. Two losses in the division will come courtesy of the Miami Dolphins.
7. New York Giants – Their defense will continue to be stout, which will help win them some games. If Eli finds newly drafted Hakeem Nicks early and often, They will not only make the playoffs, but make a strong push to the Super Bowl.
8. Tennessee Titans – "The" best record last year. But that was last year. The loss of Haynesworth will hurt them more than they think. Their offense will still be very good if not great, especially having drafted a great wide-receiver in Kenny Britt. However, they have the same coach… Jeff Fisher = Mediocre
9. San Diego Chargers – On paper, once again, they should be complete winners in their division and a force to be reckoned with on offense. LT should still be great, especially as a receiver coming out of the back field. There may be a major distraction on defense if Shawne Merriman mouths off. As with Tennessee, Norv Turner = Mediocre.
10. Houston Texans – The "Cinderella" team the past three years. They have a good coaching staff. They have the personnel, with very good skilled positions. They are in a very tough division, and all teams improved. If the team doesn’t do well in the season and make the playoffs, Gary Kubiak is gone.
So there….

eagles defense will be crippled without dawkins...say what you want he was the spark that the rest of the D fed off. Offensively with White Lightening being healthy they will be very good, but defensively...ehhh at best

atlanta falcons at 6?
they have one of the worst defenseive units in the nfl and just got worse over the offseason. i know tony gonzalez lights us up like a sunday morining blunt every time he plays us but i doubt they will be better than the 11 wins they got last year

Geez, if you hate Beck4's list on the Falcons, you're really gonna hate mine.
I believe they’re gonna be better on defense, plus the offense gets better just by experience…

Why is everyone slobbering over the Patriots again all of a sudden?
Lest we forget, they’re riding a horse with a bum leg now and traded off their backup.
There’s too much uncertainty there to rank them at #2.
That being said…
ranking teams this far out is an exercise in futility.

bc as much as we all hate the pats, they were right next to us in the standings
and as much as we hate him, brady is coming back… unhealthy, which makes him at least average? we’ll find out..

I guess I should have thought twice before creating my profile's name.
