PrintWell day one of the NFL Draft was excellent. Now it's time to see what gems the Dolphins sig up here on day two. Last year, those three men above found starters Kendall Langford (3rd round) and Donald Thomas (6th round) on day two of the draft. Let's hope for similar success today.
The Dolphins have the following picks today:
Round 3, Pick 23 (87th overall)
Round 4, Pick 8 (108th overall)
Round 5, Pick 25 (161st overall)
Round 5, Pick 29 (165th overall)
Round 6, Pick 8 (181st overall)

yeah, but we don't have much depth at either position and having a player that can play both is more beneficial and more of a typical parcells player

Too many questions
the number reason QB’s bust is because of lack of experience and poor scouting.. Sanchez only has 1 year of starting and there’s very little tape on him for teams to study.. seems like the media takes over a couple kids every year and drive them high into the first round where they shouldn’t be.
Sanchez could be a very good QB, but it’s equally as likely he’s outta the league in 3 years

I think the same thing about Brady, except you can learn from a system and become your own QB. I think Brady did that and I think Cassell can too if he’s smart enough.

If you draft a punter
and in practice he is throwing balls around and you find he can throw harder and farther and more accurately than your qb, can throw even better than he can punt, then proves he can do this even in games, would you not make him your starting qb?
Let’s assume Pat White is our wr, with the knowledge that he is also a very good qb.
Take care of the little things, and the big things will take care of themselves.
I’m not saying he will or will not be. But I think Pat White has tricks up his sleeve and if he pulls it off, I won’t be at all surprised. I’d like him as a wr, qb, rb, kick returner, whatever as long as he’s playing for us.

Also...
A HUGE part of the Wildcat is that it’s the same personnel package on the field, just lined up differently. The lack of subs keeps the defense from (1) making subs themselves and (2) know it’s coming. If you have CP10 going off the field, you are tipping your hand. At that point, we are running the Gators offense two years ago where Tebow would come in to run or throw the jump pass.

To me this signifies the end of Wilford...
In Miami. I think Parcells loves his young kids, Camarillo, Ginn, Bess and London are shoe-ins on the team. Wilford was the 5th WR and Pat white will be considered a QB and be a WR if we need him. The Turner pick takes 1 WR out of the mix and with Wilford being invisible last year, I would hope that is who is going.

Parcells loves London, I dont think he would just cast him aside. Also yea I think Turner could be a WR/TE, which gives us more versatility. Lets not forget our depth at WR hurt us last year a bit as well when Camarillo went down.

What cracks me up is how the ESPN guys ripped the pick, well we arent going to get a NT in round 3, that we be stupid. So we went to finalize our WR core by picking a guy who can play more than one position, sounds smart to me. I would rather have a good WR that can be versatile then a possibly better true WR that could be hit or miss.

Besides Rey Rey, Vontae was my man. Pat White was a curveball, but he’s a playmaker. You have to view him as an athletic playmaker rather than Chad Henne’s replacement and you’ll see he was a good selection.

everyone wanted to say it doesnt – but Moore and Macho, two slower corners, are still on the board in round 4

There seems to be debate on how good our WR core really is…some think it is a big big weakness we could have added a stud WR too, others think it isnt a weakness at all
I think Parcells took it down the middle, he has our core but has added two guys that can play other positions but also line up at WR if needed, smart move

6’2 ran a 4.5, big target with good hands. Not very explosive but deceptive speed. Something like an Anthony Gonsalez on INDY but maybe a bit quicker.

Analysis
Positives: Good height and an athletic frame. Good initial quickness off the snap. Better football player than overall athlete. Does a lot of the little things well. Reliable route-runner. Lacks elite burst out of his snaps, but runs them with precision. Good body lean and utilizes head fakes and varying speeds to help generate separation. Good hands. Tough. Will take a big hit and hang on to the ball. Good downfield blocker. Stalks defenders at the second level and can supply a big hit. Experienced special teams player.
Negatives: Lacks the eye-popping athleticism to offer much upside. Doesn’t have the straight-line speed to challenge over the top. Lacks burst out of his breaks. Generally reliable hands, but has some ugly drops when he’s trying to make a move on the defender before securing the pass.
