Dolphins Bring In Harvin for Another Look

Look out Harvin Haters- the Dolphins have brought him in for another look.

As you can see here, he even canceled another visit to come.

Star-divide

Is this a smokescreen or a genuine interest?  Its hard to gage, but there may be some meat to it.  I know Parcells is all about gamesmanship and throwing people off of his tracks, but also consider this:  the only player we drafted who wasn't worked out extensively by the FO last year was Phillip Merling, and he was still interviewed.  All the other prospects were given an in depth look, even the late round picks.  This regime does not tend to waste its time interviewing and working out prospects it wouldn't consider drafting.

I know there was also a no thugs, hoodlums, druggies, etc. throwdown issued when Parcells got here, but he did handle LT pretty well if I recall.  Harvin is a top 10 talent and it looks like the Dolphins may not be able to pass him if he is sitting there at #25.

harvin has a

huge upside, but i just don’t think he’s mature enough

I'm glad to see them doing their homework on the kid

and putting the effort in to really get to know him before the draft. I think there’s a legit shot we can get him at 44, and I would have a hard time passing on him if he’s there.

At 44 I’d say he’s worth the gamble but at 25 he’s way too big a risk.

Sorry Gator but,

I’m a strict Harvin Hater.

Reason 1. The Steroids

Reason 2. His athletisisim

Reason 3. Him in genral.

I’m not sure if I’ve got lots of testosterone against other recoivers than Robiskie or I’m just kinduve angry that Husk’s gone. I dunno. HUSKER COME BACK!!!!

You hate him because-

1.) He has never taken steroids? Why would you hate someone for not taking steroids?

2.) Because he is probably the MOST athletic player in this draft? Again, how is being athletic a down side in football?

3.) Why, do you know him or something? Unless you do you are just basing this on speculation (as opposed to say, me who at least knows people who know him).

Robiskie is a 2" taller Greg Camarillo – get over it.

GatorPhan - the obvious question...

do you take him at 25? Ahead of a CB / LB?

by Natalya on Apr 24, 2009 8:12 PM EDT up reply actions

I think he is the kind of gamebreaker

that yeah I wouldn’t mind- homerism aside.

There are no game breaking LBs or shutdown corners so why not? If you get a game changer at 25 in Harvin, and then 90% of the CB or LB you could get at 25 later in the draft then its too good a value to pass up.

Long story short, he’s a top 10 talent at 25- for me, case closed.

Oh and it does seem odd to work out a player

2 days before the draft if it was purely a diversion. You don’t want to be wasting your time – i would think – on a guy who is a total non-option, with so little time before the draft.

I dont like it

when we all think about a complimentary WR opposite Ginn, we seems to me that a bigger WR is what we come to a concensus on. Harvin and Ginn seem to be the same type of reciever. I do have to say, this with his medical issues, and his personality issues have my saying that I dont want to touch him at all. Give me English, Cushing, Mathews, Butler, Brown, Ayers……even NIcks…….just not Harvin!!

Ted Ginn vs Percy Harvin

vs

Just because they have the same height does not mean they have the same playing style. Ginn is a twig compared to Harvin.

He passed the physical of every team

yet now he has a mysterious hole in his foot somehow? I don’t buy it personally, how does surgery even fix a hole in a bone? Even so, who cares if he is ready for camp.

Its a report that just came out-

but I’m kind of doubting it. He had surgery last offseason to correct a bone spur, I’d imagine they would have caught/fixed anything else then. Like I said, he went through full physicals at the combine and passed, I really doubt anything has happened since then.

only in the 2nd round...

Harvin has to many question marks to draft with the 25th overall. I like Larry English with our first.

by Phishenstein on Apr 24, 2009 9:52 PM EDT reply actions

don't know on this one

heard a couple days ago that there was a team at the end of the first round very interested in leaping the vikings for harvin…. so of the teams picking 23-32 who would want to move up to grab a guy??? well the phins or bmoreor the giants or titans…

but then again these guys would have already done their leg work. they don’t take WR in the first round and they build teams inside/out… well they took 6 linemen last year… my guess is you’ll see TE’s & LB’s this year with a lineman or two for some flavor… and they like a certain USC ILB who only plays 2 downs….
