Hakeem after all???

My computer died on me about a week ago.  Very, very painful with about 2 weeks before draft day.  Anyway, I'm on borrowed time right now at the library sooooo.....

I was watching the ESPN mock draft on the tube yesterday and they had both V.Davis and D.Butler off the board by 25.  So who did the Dolphin's representative pick............Hakeem Nicks.  Who is my favorite receiver in this years draft.  He is also finsxfactors favorite as well.  Now everybody who has any idea of who I am knows that I have been preaching 2 corners in the first four picks and have been a staunch Darius Butler supporter....but..........  and that's like a J-Lo butt..........

if both Davis and Butler are gone.....do we go with need or talent??  or both?  would the trifecta actually spend it's first pick on a wide receiver??  Like many folks on this blog would like him too?  My answer is yes.  I know our very own "eye the sky" would like to see Larry English (who by the way is my favoriteLB in the draft) but I dunno.....what do you guys think.  Do you think that Parcells will pull the trigger on a "fancy" pick like Hakeem Nicks??  Obviously,my feelings wouldn't be hurt if any of these or any of the other great picks that some of you guys want were actually chosen.....but a new wideout would be fun??  ESPN???  Oh....the only player I don't think has a chance to make into a Dolphins Uni is...........................Kenny Britt   :)

OLB

If both CB are gone, I say they pick a guy who can play both stand up and 3 fingers down on the left side.

WR in the 2nd or 3rd rounds. I beleive we were in the top 10(or close to it) in passing last year, even with medium talent. Great WR win games. Great DEF win championships.

you are right about defenses.....

HAVE A GREAT SATURDAY GUYS……BY THE TIME I GET IN TOUCH WITH THE PHINSIDER COMMUNITY AGAIN IT WILL ALL BE SAID AND DONE………….

GO DOLPHINS…..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just one man's opinion.
The defending AFC Champions Miami Dolphins chose Marino with the 27th pick in the NFL draft.....
Founding member of the 2nd round draft of NT Ron Brace, 6'3", 330, benchx225:32 bandwagon
Founding member of the 3rd round draft of OG Herman Johnson, 6'7", 350, 36.5" arms bandwagon

I would think

that if Butler are both gone, then we would turn the tide and go OLB. That means a Cushing, Everett Brown, or Robert Ayers has slipped. Or we could just go my favorite OLB as well, and pick Larry English. We then could easily go WR with the #44 pick. Robiskie could be our guy there. I would be a happy man if we landed those two. Follow it up with Ziggy Hood for DT and my ideal day 1 is complete!!

exactly

He’d have to be a 3-4 DE – and we really dont need to invest in a high pick at that spot with Langford/Merling/Starks.

and the recently traded-for Tony McDaniel

as well as Lionel Dotson, who we drafted late last year.

I would say we’re pretty much set at DE..

Not necessarily true-

I read somewhere recently that all but ONE NT taken by Parcells was under 305 lbs and under 6’-4" or something along those lines. His latest success story, Ratliff, came from Auburn at 293. Apparently the philosophy is get guys they think can bulk up and play, but in case they flame out they can be shifted over to DE so its not a total waste.

Don't want to say told ya so...but told ya so..

Nicks will be the pick or at least seem that way..so we can trade down with the Giants for their 1st and 3rd round picks…I would be happy with Nicks as the pick..but Brandon Tate would be a better pick-up with our 4th rounder…IMO… GO PHINS… no Heyward-Bey…dammit

LOL

you can’t say “told ya so” the day before the draft, just because McShay/Kiper say we’re taking Nicks. You do know the draft hasn’t happened yet, and those two are usually wrong?

Nope

Let me go ahead and say it now. The Phins wont be drafting WR in the first two rounds. maybe not even the first three rounds. I truly believe that the Trifeta will go CB, LB, NT with our first 3 picks. Not neccessarily in that order. And in the third round, they may pick up a receiver, but something in me says they will pick up someone for the o-line or another defensive player. I am hoping another LB, Safety or Corner.

That's stupid.

They will at least take ONE reciver in the first two rounds. Whether it be Robiskie or Harvin I dunno.
