Wildcat? Oh you knew it was coming!!

Madden NFL 10 is an American football video game based on the National Football League that was published by EA Sports and developed by EA Tiburon. It is the 21st annual installment in the Madden NFL video game franchise. On-field authenticity and emotion is taken to another level in Madden NFL 10. With more control over the outcome of the play than ever before, players can drag defenders towards the first down marker, fight for a fumble at the bottom of the pile, and avoid the rush by stepping up into the pocket. Utilizing an all-new animation technology, Madden NFL 10 ensures that the Fight For Every Yard doesn't end until the whistle blows.Blah blah blah.. Lets get to the pictures Jersquall!! O.k. gosh..

Yes

Not only is it huge, the dolphin is in the wrong place. It looks like the logo from the 70’s but with the new cartoon dolphin.

Am I the only one who wants..

I want the game to have more mid week interactions. Maybe a sports center kind of deal where you can see clips or whatnot of what NFL or NFC or AFC or even “your” team did the last week. In madden 07 on the PC they had a deal where they had local news and email about the team. It was kind of cool. Take it one step further and set up with video reports or whatnot of what happened the weekend before. I think it would be a very cool function.

Also I would be VERY pissed if the WC was not in this years madden.

Also, who bets the phins are rated like… 79 or 80 for overall team. They never seem to be rated as good as they are when they do good.. but are dropped to the bottom of the barrel if they are bad.

One more point… WTH isnt Marino in the hall of fame section? Or available as a Superstar player? Cant they come to some kind of agreement with Marino?

by MainePhinFan on Apr 21, 2009 12:47 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

*edit*

Ill be even more pissed if all teams have a form of the WC in their playbooks. I know a few teams tried to run it mid season, but dont put it on every team in the game!

by MainePhinFan on Apr 21, 2009 12:48 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

they were rated 65 at the beginning of the year

with roster updates they got 85

like camarillo and bess were 70, later on 80-85ish.

I got a bad feeling about the wildcat

I can see it already – playing online, teams will use Vince Young and run the WC with him and it’ll be unstoppable.

I want NE to run it

And Fail !!

i agree.....

this formation needs to be exclusive to the phins

by CaliPhinsFan on Apr 21, 2009 3:30 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

why? other teams ran it

AZ didn’t even copy it. they had their own version they have been running for a while now, with Q back. they call it “pahokee”.

serious.

exactly

I think about 16 teams had their own variation of it by the end of the year, it was hardly “exclusive” to the Dolphins

I wrote about my Madden gripes

Madden 2010 (and beyond) Wish List

Franchise Mode: As a huge Miami Dolphin fan the thing I would love to do the most is be a GM for that organization. Drafting, free agency, trades, or adjusting for cap space are all things that I love doing. Yet, when I do those things it isn’t as exciting as it should be. There is no pomp and flare when you draft a QB number one overall. That’s a big deal. Especially if I have a veteran QB already on my roster who will eventually be fighting for the starting position. There is no drama, no flare. No storyline. It just feels like a spreadsheet manipulation on the depthchart. Free Agency and trades are already fun, no complaint. When the Jets went out this past season to acquire Farve, Jenkins, Faneca and Pace they had some serious cap problems after their season ended – yet, when I keep a franchising going for a few years cap space doesn’t seem to be a problem at all. I can sign as many FA, draft picks I want without fear of busting my cap. Why? Player contracts don’t increase with increased revenues. Which as the past few drafts have shown us isn’t the case! Fix this. Owners can’t always keep their best players when the price tag gets high up there.

Madden feels like a spreadsheet. I don’t feel like I’m getting to know the players I’m playing as. Yes, the real players like the Favre saga or T.O. troubles give them life in the game. However, the randomly generated or NCAA imported draftees don’t get the benefit of having a real life counterpart. None what so ever. Instead they are robots with the bare minimum statistics (I should get all their statistics from their college years, too), they aren’t people. They don’t have characteristics or personalities that can be evaluated. Will this draftee be a team player or is he a ‘Me’ player, does he want that big payday or would he be willing to give a hometown discount if it helps free some cap space? Where could these characteristics start? NCAA Football. Randomly generated characteristics in the recruiting classes could be carried thru the NCAA season unchanged, or if the coach/team he was on changed his characteristics somehow – either making the personality more egotistic or more team orientated. Then these transfer over to Madden. If the player doesn’t have NCAA then Maddden 10 should generate it.

Even team owners have personalities, some are more hands on, some hands off. From time to time teams gets sold so new owners come in and older ones go out, this should be a random, albeit infrequent, occurrence. Owners die sometimes so there relatives should take over. Maybe you want to draft a RB but the owner wants you to get a LB, tension should arise at times.

Keeping with the storyline theme, where is ESPN? Where is Boomer? Where is Ditka and Keyshaun? I want commentary, doesn’t have to be spoken (though that would be awesome), doesn’t matter. I just want highlight reels from all games that week, I want stats – especially those eroneous ones like, for example, Kurt Warner is 1-2 in Superbowls. Or what his passing numbers are in the playoffs, or his passer efficiency on third downs. Just little details to liven up the game. To make us feel like we are progressing thru an actual real NFL season. Remember the newspaper clippings in PS2 Madden? What happened to that?

Franchises in real life have highs and lows, peaks and valleys, great triumphs and painful defeats, leaps forwards and big steps backwards. For an NFL franchise a team is only as good as the talent they have. Teams that stay healthy the whole season tend to fare better than those that have caught the injury bug. Though, for some strange reason, their doesn’t seem to be that many injuries in Madden. Most seasons I play I have 1… maybe 2… players get hurt enough to keep them out a few games. I’ve probably used the Injured Reserve option… twice. In the NFL this year alone over 100 players went on IR. Injuries are a vital part of the football season. Therefore I think there should be more injuries in Madden during franchise mode and superstar mode – very few should be career threatening, but that should also pop up from time to time. The more injury prone a player the the more likely hood they will retire sooner.

Superstar Mode: On paper this is a great idea. Who doesn’t want to be the QB of their favorite team, take them to a superbowl and win it all! Or the next Emmitt Smith? or Ray Lewis? Or Jerry Rice! You could… but the A.I. is so bad it is unplayable. As a QB: RBs miss wide open holes for -2 yard loses, or run out of bounds 4 yards behind the line during dump off passes. If you’re playing RB: the QB will make poor decisions, as Peyton Manning, than seems reasonable, or they will always force the ball to the player hoping for something to happen… ending up in an incompletion or worse. The A.I. SUCKS. At least make the A.I. hit the hole when running on not run out of bounds for -4 yards on checkdowns.

I’m not sure if I will buy Madden this year. The game play is supposedly improved. Less bs interceptions, more realistic AI. I’ll rent it first.

When I was playing Head Coach I tried creating my own WildCat plays. Didn’t work cause I wasn’t allowed to put another player in the QB spot unless they played QB… even though I could put any other player anywhere else for the most part… glad they are getting around to it this time.

And yes, I do take Madden seriously. lol

Yeah Ive always wanted some of this stuff to improve or be more "real"

but there is thick line between real life and a cyber world so all this stuff probably falls in that grey area.
