PrintAs you all know by now, the Dolphins 2009 schedule was released earlier tonight. Below is the week by week schedule:

It's important to note that weeks 11 through 17 are "flex scheduling weeks" - meaning games scheduled for Sunday afternoons can possibly be moved to Sunday night. And games scheduled for Sunday night can be moved to Sunday afternoon.
Some quick thoughts on the schedule:
- Many of you wanted some prime time games and you got them. Two Monday Night home games is great. Those of you who live in Florida, though, better get to Dolphin Stadium and fill the seats. There's nothing worse than having a lot of empty seats during a national prime time game.
- Having a Monday Night home opener is pretty damn cool - I must say. Interesting thing to note here is that the Dolphins are kicking the Marlins out of Dolphin Stadium on September 21 for this game. The Marlins were originally scheduled to host the Phillies that night - but agreed to move the game to another date in July to accommodate the Dolphins' return to Monday Night Football.
- A week 6 bye week isn't ideal - but it's better than last year when it was in week 4.
- That week 11 to week 16 stretch where the Dolphins play four out of five on the road is going to be tough - with their lone home game against the Patriots.
- No "cold weather" December games is certainly intriguing. Of course, having to play at the Meadowlands and then up in New England in back-to-back weeks to start November is a tough situation to be in.
- Note that the week 13 game between the Dolphins and Patriots in Miami that is currently scheduled as a Sunday Night game could be flexed out if NBC wishes.
Head coach Tony Sparano had this to say about the recently released schedule:
"With the NFL scheduling us for four prime-time games this season, it reflects the national following the Dolphins have built over time and it's indicative of the progress we've made in the last year. There certainly are some challenges. The schedule has several playoff teams from last year and conference opponents right at the top, so we need to be ready to go right from start, underlining the importance of our offseason program and training camp."

6 or 8 on the road before finishing with houston yuk and pitt… even worse.
Brutal Schedule
First 3 weeks suck and the Chargers game is just wrong. Road game after a short week and cross country travel.

And last year, if I recall correctly, NBC more often than not didn’t flex the Sunday game – likely because CBS and FOX could block the better games.
As long as neither the Fins or Pats go off the deep end, I think they’ll keep that game. After all, the Pats bring high ratings (for some ungodly reason lol)

The Texans beat us again this year….i have my sister back my car over me a few times. Is it me or everytime we play them they drive down the field on the 1st drive and punch us in the genitals? especially at home in that freakin dome.

Opening in ATL is gonna be tough…that place will be rockin with false hope of being a contender…getting them later when they are back to earth woulda been better
Of course the Colts will be tough as long as Pdub is the QB….but they scare me less and less every year…and i think that defense on a Monday night can be exposed.
Bills, Jets, Bye, Saints all at home there…i like that…those are 3 winnable games all at home right when u need a good start.

wow, looks like we wont get a break at all this year. every team is tough
really will show what this team is made of, granted, that every team has had its series of losses and additions throughout the offseason but its also important to keep in mind that every team is not going to perform the way they did this past season. some will get better, yet others have only one direction to go… and thats down. so i hope miami can help F up the teams the got this year, but dammit, it wont be easy!

L @ Falcons Ryan more comfortable, our secondary will need time to gel, tough to play on the road.
W v. Colts (MNF) Play keep away from Manning. Their defense is vulnerable.

I think we beat SD. Beat’em last season pretty easily and I think that they will have problems with their running games (Tomlinson vs Sproles who knows whats going on over there!). I say 13-3
