Does anyone have details for the Carey contract? I've seen his salary info, his roster and workout bonus for 2009 and his signing bonus. But I've also seen the CBA and by my estimation, that roster bonus is considered a signing bonus not salary, because it's the Final Capped Year so it's pro rated across the length of the contract.

The problem that causes is that in order for Carey's deal to fit under the 30% rule (which comes into play because this is the Final Capped Year) Carey's salary for 2009 would need to be AT LEAST around $2.5m. That would mean he'd need to have around $1.5m in Likely to be Earned Incentives in the first year of his deal or else the Carey contract would breach the CBA.
