Well, to everyones surprise I am draft Chris "Beanie" Wells at #5

Here is my reasoning

1) The Browns biggest need is CB and Jenkins/Davis going at 5 is waaaaay to early.
2) The Browns RB’s are long in the tooth and could use an infusion of youth. Beanie Wells is a great, hometown runningback, that will solidify the position for the Browns for many many moons.
3) Clevlend has two 2nd rounders, where they can get better value for their picks at the LB and CB position.

I was going to say that I loved your pick. Nowadays, drafting a RB in the first round can have an immediate and huge success for your team, specially a work horse. Now, Im impressed with your reasoning nicky, its not a matter of the player being worth to the value of the pick but if it is worth of its “true value” meaning the situation the Browns are in, lets see, they are going to start a 3rd year Rookie QB so they need all the help they can get from the running game, and GM’s already noticed 2 things:
1- Rookie RB’s are having ridiculous production
2- The Michael Turner effect: If you have a Rookie QB, his effectiveness and development will be greatly improved with a strong running game.
If you add that this is a thin RB class and that pretty good CB are going to make it to the 2nd round it would make a lot of sense for the Browns to think about it

Its not what the teacher did but rather how the players acted and that the coaching staff didnt handle it the proper way, specially with Bowden being the CEO and all…

I dont think it would have made the difference in you guys being out of the top 5 in any of those 14 years, but I do think that FSU should be punished.

The NCAA has strict policies on how such matters should be handled, and the FSU Staff failed to do so…

As far as the footlocker thing- same deal… footlocker could not have given the players all that clothes for 20 something bucks if the players had said – wait a minute, thats not right… they didnt, and the staff failed to keep an eye out for the possibilities of major companies pretty much giving shit to their players.

All in all, I do think FSU deserves to be punished… Unfortunately, it does put into question some of the wins FSU acquired… Personally, I dont think the involved athletes would have made the difference between the actual win or loss, but thats the way it goes…

I dislike FSU simply because they are Miami’s rival… but if i had to give a non-biased opinion, I would say they deserve the punishment, because, although the teacher, footlocker, and everyone else acted poorly, it takes 2 to tango…

First to clear a couple things

I am not an unrealistic person, I have done wrong, and I am currently going to college.

2nd- Ok, your argument sounds reasonable. Maybe the NCAA should have punished the players and not the coaches. Nonetheless it wasn’t done.

I’m very sorry if you feel that most people would take test answers just like that. Being a current student I can tell you that I wouldn’t, and knowing what was at risk those players shouldnt have either. Right, coaches, staff cant act on their behalf, understood, but who takes the blame now that the players are years gone? Is it bypassed? I wouldnt think that’s fair to the rest of the teams in the NCAA…

If the Canes won the national championship right now, and a justified reason caused their record to be changed to 0-11, then they deserve it. Like i said… if i had to give an unbiased opinion, I think FSU deserves to be punished.

I know I dont know it all, but I’m confident in what I say and the way I feel.

Understand something- as much as I hate FSU, if this was UM’s situation, I’d be mad as hell, but IF ITS JUSTIFIED, and I feel this is.. then hell they deserve it.

everybody knows I’m the biggest Gator homer there is- but get real. You can’t control some rogue tutor who wants to be popular – they are supposed to be the ones looking out for you.

FSU did everything right after they found out and suspended the players from a bowl game, and then some. Its like when OK got their wins taken away cuz Bomar got some extra cash from a car dealership- after you tell them “don’t do that” what else can you do?

haha Romo is a weird kind of bust anyways. However, I chose Stafford because i was in a hurry

but right now I would have picked Aaron Curry though, i dont think they´ll take the risk of drafting a bust at #1. And with the kind of money you have to give out and the lions roster being what it is right now, you would set back the franchise a good 5 years. Just look at San Francisco for example.

Was at the time

Lost a lot of blood very quickly. And had I not passed out they might not have caught it and I may have come pretty close to not waking up when did pass out. At the very least, I wasn’t driving. Thankfully the surgery was highly successful and this ordeal should be over soon. If anyone wants to know what the condition was, look up Meckel’s diverticulum.

Thanks to whoever auto’d me Moreno, too. Love him and was seriously considering taking him with Philly’s first.
