7 Round Dolphin Mock 2.0
Plan A: Sean Smith is Available at the #25 slot.
First Round Pick #25
Sean Smith 6-3 214 4.53 CB Utah
I think he's the best corner in the draft right now and has the most upside as well. No more lost jump-balls downfield.
(T-PB-Int: 32-7-4, 45-9-5)
Second Round Pick A #44
Lee Robinson 6-2 249 4.78 ILB (LOLB) Alcorn State
Can play ANY of the LB positions with IMPACT, can cover
(T-Tfl-Sk-PB-Int: 62-8-4-4-0, 79-15-9-1-0, 82-18-4-3-0, 111-10.5-3.5-3-3)
Second Round Pick B #56
Match the Tender to Miles Austin WR 6-3 216 4.47 (Dallas) $1.5 mill
NFL ready WR who is big, fast, can jump, and has good hands, plays ST too
Third Round
Sherrod Martin 6-1 198 4.52 CB/FS Troy
I like CBs who can tackle AND cover. Good size and athleticism. Can play safety or corner.
(90-7-4)
Fourth Round
Kenny Mainor 6-4 241 4.65 ROLB/RILB Troy
senior season derailed by freak injury, I like his size and speed. DeMarcus Ware Jr.?
(T-Tfl-Sk: 47-10.5-6.5, 40-9.5-5, 14-3-0)
Fifth Round
Sammie Lee Hill 6-4 329 5.15 NT Stillman
Hungry and Lineman usually = eating disorder, but this guy is hungry to play football. Hard worker WITH mad skills, just raw.
(39-6-3.5, 41-9-2, 52-14-4.5, 59-15.5-7.5)
Seventh Round
Dallas Reynolds 6-5 332 5.35 C BYU
In case Grove doesn't work out.
Joe Mortensen 6-1 250 4.90 LILB Kansas
Gamble to replace Crowder, a bit slow, but can make plays. Has experience inside.
DJ Clark 6-1 197 4.45 CB to FS Idaho State
Not fast/athletic enough for CB in the NFL. Smart. Convert to Free Safety?
(T-Pb-Int: 44-2-3, 39-6-3, 70-6-4, 58-8-5)
Future LB core:
LOLB Robinson
LILB Mortensen
RILB Mainor
ROLB Wake
Plan B: If Sean Smith is not available at #25 and the player I would like to draft above is not available at that spot. Backup plan.
1. Clint Sintim 6-3 256 4.78 RILB Virginia
Can play any of the LB positions
(53-7-3-1-0, 45-10-4, 77-9-9, 70-13-11-3-0)
2. Jarius Byrd 5-10 207 4.55 CB Oregon
More quick than fast, but a playmaker and can support the run
(56-7-5, 65-15-7, 83-14-5)
2. Tendered for Miles Austin (see above)
3. Brandon Underwood 6-1 198 4.53 CB Cincinnati
Inexperienced, but has good size and filled in nicely when Mike Minkens went down. Experience at CB and S.
4. Dorell Scott 6-3 312 4.95 DT Clemson
Has enough size to play NT. Good Athlete. Mentored by Merling's Uncle Rumpf
5. Slade Norris 6-3 245 4.65 RILB Oregon State
converted LB to DE, 18.5 TFL and 10 sacks bodes well for move to OLB
(16-10-9, 57-18.5-10)
7. Ryan McKee 6-6 291 4.96 OT Southern Mississippi
developmental backup tackle, good athlete
7. Mortty Ivy 6-1 248 4.95 LILB West Virginia
slow ILB who can make plays. When was the last time you saw an ILB run 40 yards anyway?
7. Marcus McClinton 6-0 210 4.54 S Kentucky
Good measurables. Free safety wannabe who can run.
If the Trifecta is not interested in giving up a LATE 2nd for Miles Austin,
two players I might use that #56 pick on would be:
James Casey 6-3 246 4.71 TE Rice #56?
(46-585-4, 111-1329-13)
How many TE catch 100 passes for 1000 yards in college? Has played RB and QB. A mini-Tony Gonzalez.
Victor Butler 6-2 248 4.84 OLB Oregon State
(T-Tfl-Sk-Pb-Int: 33-12-10.5-4-1, 65-21.5-12-0-0)
They say he's a one trick pony. 21.5 TFL and 12 Sacks is a pretty productive one trick pony. Good athlete.
Sorry for the length.

Sean Smith
I’m absolutely with you on the Sean Smith draft at #25. He was all over the field in the Cotton Bowl against Alabama.
WOW
looking forward to the draft much? Me too but i want to trade 1st, one of 2cd, and two of 7th to move up and get BJ Raji. Nice work!!

Not bad
I myself like smith and think he’d fit great with us. I doubt Miles would be released now, because he’s now DAL’s number 1 receiver. And i doubt we’d jump so far to get Raji, although I am the advocator of jumping 10 spots for my boy Rey Rey.
Laces out!

Miles isn't the number 1
he’s battling for the #3 spot I believe, behind Roy Williams and Patrick Crayton, and battling with Sam Hurd

That Sean Smith bandwagon is getting crowded
And I’m one that is also on board with both feet.
Right now – Sean Smith and Darius Butler are my two favorite corners in the entire draft. I think they have the most upside.
yeah, i think Sean Smith is definitely a good fit...
Matcho Harris concerns me with his lackluster senior year, but he is more of a playmaker than Smith so not sure if the Trifecta is looking for solid corner or game changer.

I like it-
I saw like 2 or 3 or my best players you’ve never heard of- nice!
I like Smith- but I don’t know if Parcells will take him as a CB unless he shows unnatural agility for someone so tall.

I said during the combine
(and got ridiculed mercilessly lol) that Sean Smith has incredibly fluid hips. Reminds of Antonio Cromartie, in the fact that they’re both taller-than-natural CB’s with good enough agility to offset the height.

Ah-
I only saw him against BYU, and against Alabama where he was hit or miss. He had some brilliant plays, but sometimes he had trouble with an injured Julio Jones and Austin Collie made catches at will it seemed.

I love Smith
but I dont see him with the first pick here would be my wet dream
1.Clint Sintim-olb Virginia
2a.Ron Brace-dt Boston Collage
2b.Sean Smith/Jairus Byrd cb Utah/cb Oregon
3.Brian Robiskie-wr Ohio State
4.Herman Jonson-og LSU
5.Chip Vaughn-FS Wake Forest
7a.Marquez Branson-TE Central Arkansas
7b.Marlon Favorite-NT LSU
7c.Kyle Link-OT McNeese State did not allow a sack senior year drafted for depth at the RT spot
Ahhhh Ta Ta Ta Ta Bye Bye Foy518
That would be an awesome draft...
but with the shortage of big NTs and the number of new teams moving to the 3-4, I just don’t see Brace dropping into the bottom of the 2nd round.
Brian Robiskie is one of the top 6-7 WR in the draft, it would be great to see him drop to the bottom of the 3rd round, but I’m pretty skeptical. The problem is that the Fins are picking in the bottom of the rounds.
Also not sure that Chip Vaughn will last to the 5th round. He’s a great player though.
Jarius Byrd is slotted about right, I don’t think Smith will last to the end of the 2nd round, obviously.
Good find on Kyle Link and I like Marquez Branson.
I realize that you said this was your dream draft, so you have to assume that some players will drop down to the Fins position…
Joining the "Draft Sean Smith in the First Round" Bandwagon even though he could lift 225 lbs only 10 times
Thanks
yeah I dont see Smith,or Brian lasting to long but you never know with teams like Ciny and Seatle filling in their holes at wr some guys may drop but I can see Brian as a mid to late second rounder for sure
Ahhhh Ta Ta Ta Ta Bye Bye Foy518
I can't see
the tuna drafting anything but DE/OB in the first round considering the position’s depth and his search for the next L.T.. I do see a CB being targeted in the second round one of the Smiths, Moore, Allen, or a Francies. And with TO being released you can forget about the cowboy wr trade
