Redskins Release Taylor, Possible Comeback For Former Dolphin?
The Washington Redskins have recently released linebacker/defensive end Jason Taylor according to ESPN. Since the Dolphins have just released Vonnie Holliday, could Taylor come back to the Dolphins to fill that void that the Dolphins now are left to fill? Taylor of course would have to take a big pay cut, but that's the price you have to pay in order to play for a contender when you are on the other side of 30 these days. Taylor also brings versatility to the table as well, since he can play both the defensive end and line backer positions. Dol-phans, we will have to wait and see how this one plays out, but besides Taylor, the only other lineman in free agency is Bertrand Berry, who is 33. I really don't like the idea of having two second year players as the starters on the line with no real back up behind them to give the two young guys a challenge to keep them hungry.

Bring him back
Could be nice to see him back in aqua and orange.
We need the leadership in the line. It will help.

Don't want Taylor back....sorry.
Reports are that the Redskins asked Taylor to take part in at least half of the team’s offseason workouts and Taylor declined – leading to his release.
At this point, no need for a player like that…not to mention his age and likely high contract demand.
maybe he did that cuz he wanted out?
JT would have to basically beg to come back…..its ok…he will look great with a star on his helmet

His heart just doesn't seem to be in football anymore
At this point in the rebuilding stage, we don’t need that kind of player.
I’ll always be a big fan of his because of what he meant to this team in the past, though.
agreed
if anyone wants to read what happened – washington agreed to pay him his 8 mil per year they just wanted a clause that said JT would be at 29 of the 35 OTA days and JT said no.
doesn’t sound like someone the tuna phisher want.

So...
1 year contract, 3 mil, and he reports for 50 percent of the oiffseason workouts. Change your mind if he agreed to that?
hypothetically speaking or don’t you speak hypothetic? lol.

I heard that too, and instantly
the thought of him coming back left my mind. Whether it would be nice or not, the FO won’t want a part timer.

Way I see it...
I think Taylor would be able to come back to Miami and return to superstar form…
1st) I think this season he has something to prove after his debacle at Washington
2nd) He’s with a team that he practically knows and grew up with, and if he comes with a proper contract- he may be happy to play here again.

we dont need him
he wont workout with the team during the offseason. we dont need a guy like that around
smoking rally bowls for the phins since 2002! oh and screw the jets
Hmmm in a 3-4 I dont know
I always liked JT and wanted to see him leave football as a Phin but this is a new regiem and we can find another outside linebacker in the draft
Ahhhh Ta Ta Ta Ta Bye Bye Foy518
JT
i see both sides….JT is a popular dude…he probally had his whole offseason planned out with appearances and meetings for non football stuff. last second he cant just clear his entire schedule cuz the skins want him at “voluntary” workouts.
also they say he wants to be with his family….IN MIAMI. so him going to our workouts would be the best for him if he was willing.
the only way this happens (and i hope it does) is if:
1) JT will come to our offseason workouts and see him family at night.
2) JT is willing to take a contract incentive driven. im sure the phins would be ok with a 1 million dollar bonus for making the pro bowl….i mean its worth every penny if that happened.
3) JT is ok with playing less…like Holliday did and was ok with.
4) he will sign a 1 year deal…thats all the Phins would want most likely. That being said…JT wants to retire after this season or next anyway so i doubt length is the prob.
5) He is willing to comeback and eat his pride…check his ego at the door and admit his wrongs….this is the option i dont see happening.

I doubt this will happen
he doesn’t fit the bill parcells mold. I mean they got rid of him for a reason and why bring him back if he would pull the same bs over again. I will always have a place in my heart for JT but just not on this current team … lets let some younger players show what they are worth ie Cam Wake !!!!
We are moving on. . .
One (or all) of our young D-linemen will emerge as the next big thing. I love the memories but Keep this team heading into the future. No to old, former Dolphins.
Bring back FinsX
Thanks for the Memories JT
No thanks, time to look forward, I say pick up Stephen Bowen of the Cowboys. I think he is a FA or RFA…..The Tuna loves this kid, he is a very good back up who can give you 15-25 quality plays at either end.
so where is the fourth option
no need to do anything with the line – we have enough depth and it’s time the yutes have a bigger role.

His heart isn't in it ???
you guys are making ridiculous comments about JT’s heart for football because he didn’t want to live away from his family in the offseason? He didn’t say he wasn’t willing to workout in the offseason, his issue was that he had to be in Washington to do it … away from his family.
If JT came back to miami, his offseason workouts would be 10 miles from his home. I doubt he’d have an issue working out in the offseason in Miami.
In my mind, get JT back … DO NOT move JPeezy away from the position he played last year (make JT play on the other side). It is all going to come down to money. Will JT give Miami a hometown discount to play here.
If he can come in at a reasonable number, I say, sign him with no hesitation.
linebacker depth
last time i checked, we needed depth, and would allow us to address our attention to other needs like the wr’s and cb’s. I want him back because it would allow us to get both of those positions in the draft with out first two picks and maybe get a linebacker to develop in the 2nd round with our 2nd 2nd round pick.
i would love to get JT back
he is tied for my all-time fave Dolphin (with Dan Marino of course) and nothing would make me happier than to see him back in a Dolphins jersey again…i was upset too see him leave, i have always wanted him to retire as a Dolphin
