Around SBN: Interview With UMD Athletic Director, Dr. Debbie Yow

What will I do until September??

Who the Hell knows, to be honest.  There is really nothing that i would rather do than fast forward time, to kickoff Sunday, spark up the grill, cook some brats, some ribs, and definitely send my wife and daughter to my in-laws, all while having the guys over to drink beer, and play poker. I mean seriously, What is there to do after the Super Bowl?  Yes there is the draft, which is comparable to going to a chinese buffet when you are starving, and just wanting to run up to get your food, and then waiter is holding you up to ask if you want tea with your meal.  After that, we have Baseball, March Madness, and the NBA Finals....Insert yawn here.  I guess with the nice weather, one could do some home improvements, but who Really wants to do that stuff?  I think i may play some golf to pass the time, but even that get's too expensive.

WHAT IS LEFT IF THERE IS NO FOOTBALL????  Absolutely nothing!!  Period!!!!  I eat, sleep, and breathe it, and the closer i get to September, the happier me, and everyone around me are.  Can you imagine life without football?  It would be like Belicheck without his binkie aka his video camera.  You just can't have one without the other.  So what will you all do to pass the time?  For me, I will be sitting on my recliner with my Ronnie Brown jersey on, the remote control in my hand, my DVR juiced up and ready to go, my Direct TV bill paid so i won't miss the games, an ice cold BEER ready to be cracked, and to salute you, the Month of September!!!  Can't wait to meet you again.

GO PHINS!!!

Find a youth league

and coach. I coach tackle starting in July, and during the offseason (Feb – May) we run flag football. It’s a nice football fix. I’m also really into Basketball, so March Madness and the NBA Playoffs keep me entertained for the most part.

There’s nothing like real life NFL games though… and all we can do until then is wait.. damn you for bringing that up lol

I may actually play Semi-Pro Football

This Summer in Connecticut. My brother is begging me to join the league they are in, that travels all over New England. They need a DT, and go for 6’2" 318 right now, and very athletic, and mobile. I just played a couple of months ago, and had two sacks, and four tackles for loss, inlcuding a Lavar Leap over the center and guard while breaking up a Wildcat play. I just won’t have the time with a new baby on the way. Oh well, maybe next year.

Now is the time- the time to rise up from the depths of Hell and stake our claim back on top of the AFC East...Look out Gaytriots here comes Jake Long and the Phins

I played in a semi pro league myself fun as hell

I played MLB and my first game I was all over I had 2 sacks and 10 or so tackles I did play LB in high school but I was still nervous as hell since it was about 7 years since I played, then one game because of my size they wanted me to play WR that went well until I torn my groin in half still may give it another shot again when I get my weight up a bit

LOL funny post dude

I feel you bro, i really do, but i do like hockey and my Devils are poised to make a run at the cup, but thats over at the start of summer, then theres the UFC but like you said about the chinese buffet and all. The NFL network is offering all the games from last year in streaming video for 19.99 so we can relive all the thrills and chills from last season if you dont already have them on tape. But you have to pace yourself dude dont go and watch them all in a mind bending marathon…. hey wait a minute.., mind bending marathon i’m starting to like the sound of that gotta go good luck this summer:>)

NBA playoffs are good

but after that its gets really really bad. ESPN gets worse with nothing but baseball news…and there lame new shows that they try to force down are mouth.

I am a big fan of the Orlando Magic......

……..but does anyone else feel like you can miss the entire game and catch the last 2 minutes to really see the game?…..either it’s a blow out or they are tied at 2 left…….

I won't lie...

… I love the Yankees and I can’t wait for baseball to start.

Start getting into basketball

its awesome, i am a huge fan of the round orange ball game and this time of the year is AWESOME for it…you got the March Madness which my beloved ASU Sundevils are in (playing there first 2 round games in Miami, go support my team since i cant) and the race to the NBA playoffs and then the playoffs itself, and of course watching this year’s MVP one Mr. Dwyane Wade, who if you didnt know plays for El Miami Heat, so get into basketball, highly recommend it, and it’ll pass the time pretty damn quickly…

exactly

He’s firmly entrenched in the Elite Superstar class with LeBron and Kobe. I’m planning my future schedule around his MVP Celebration Rally.

I'm moving this weekend- and then I get to do what you don't wanna-

housework!

I have to do some tiling, sanding, painting, spackling, and then probably some more painting. Kind of lame- but at the end I will have a kick ass football room. Wetbar, mini fridge, recliner, flat screen, Dolphins and Gators gear, team colors on the wall (Orange and Blue in honor of the NC victory- Aqua and Coral will come after we win the SB), and X-box. I’ll never have to leave!
