Good for him
this was a move that benefits him and his family and us getting younger and better at the position
Josh McDaniels
is poaching our secondary…why?? It was our worst unit last year!
Either way, good for Goodman, he might see more playing time now and he’s also cashing in.
don't blame the line
running between the tackles is a reflection on the defense the opp runs… and phins faced 8 & 9 in the box most of the time.

we really need to take care of this position now via FA or Draft. I have faith we will

hey Sprovo ....
not sure if you know this or not, if you do, excuse me. You can’t put links in the heading area, they don’t work. Just a heads up if you weren’t aware of this.. I cut and pasted your link, wow. I don’t think the FO had this kind of “value” on Goodman, more power to him.

I'm not liking this
……..until I see what the FO has for a plan at CB. I thought Goodman’s game improved as the yr went on. I voted him the most important FA on our team. I have a feeling there going to try and pry Henry from the lIons. If he comes cheap it would be a great move.
Congrats Goodman, good luck and thanks for the play last yr. You got the contract you were looking for.
Most important FA?
Did you forget Dan Carpenter and Davone Bess?
Still, I agree that Goodman really stepped it up, and I was looking forward to seeing him perform this year. Personally, I believe he outperformed Will Allen in the second half of the season.
what do you mean ?? this was the best move ever
we are getting younger, stronger and better. And more importantly, we are trying to build this team with the kind of players we think can be successful and that perfectly fit our puzzle, so that at then end every piece matches each other and be a great team. We kept Channing because he is young, and we kept Bell because he is strong, but Goodman is neither of those so let the guy cash in with another team and that be it.
and I would think that Goodman's excellent performance against Brandon Marshall
helped his cause for that contract
yep, and for the Broncos, a getting a veteran starting CB who can play at a good level
and create turnovers for 5mil a year isnt as bad. Just ask Washington
add on read
click here and read. Kinda gives me heeby jeebies if Jason Allen replaces him, hopefully we find someone via FA and the draft and they compete, getting us a CB we have trust in.

Jason Allen
might do decently well this year. After all, he played all of last year at cornerback. It’s like it’s his second year again.
true but.......
he didn’t do much……
"Jason Allen, the Dolphins’ 2006 first-round pick, is presently the most likely replacement for Goodman. The former Tennessee standout started two games last season and contributed 36 tackles and one interception when used as part of the nickel package.
The converted safety was eventually shelved when he broke his hand in a late November loss to the Patriots. In that game Jason Allen struggled to defend Pro Bowl receiver Randy Moss, who caught eight passes for 125 yards and scored three touchdowns on him."

this is dumb.....
but I’m kinda stoked that i was able to quote something, use the quote icon and have it actually work……. For those that don’t know. After you cut and paste a quote, add your own " at the start and end of it, then highlight it, then hit the (“) icon on the comment task bar. This should work. Just because there are quotes on the article you are trying to cut and paste, it seems you need to add your own quotes at the start and end of it to make it go "seafoam green”……yea I know, I went colors a Dolphin would be happy with…….. Hope this helps, and I hope I’m right………..

nah
all you have to is paste your text in, highlight what you want quoted and then hit the quotes….
or you could type in “
” before you paste -
in effect you need to braket your quote.

actually
i thought J Allen was showing signs of playing well at CB – UNTIL they left him in man to man against R Moss and then he broke his hand…. (and had the officials not be on the take had the pass interference call been called as everyone else in the world saw it on MOSS – we’d be a lot happier with him)
but he shut down B Marshall without help for much of the game and played 2 good games before that one….

i agree. i think Allen has always had the athleticism to play CB
i think he has struggled mentally. because of that,. the constant changes have hampered his development. i am not saying that he WILL be good, or NOT a bust, but I think he may be a late bloomer and may still develop.
However, i would also have to say that he has used up his leeway and needs to make it happen now.
As for Goody, i like him, but even if we re-signed him we would still need to upgrade our CBs, so i guess we really need to get one very good CB in the draft and then let them battle it out for roster position.

Good for him- no pun intended.
Its never a good thing to lose 5 INTs. Leigh Bodden is still out there- and there are some good corners in the draft though. Anybody have DJ Moore, Alphonso Smith, or Darius Butler band wagons? Probably happy to hear this news.

I support not re-signing Goodman.
I know that the secondary needs to be rebuilt. I think that we’ll be just fine and we can add a couple young guys that will do quite well. He was’t very good at the beginning of the year, he was OK after but I don’t think he’s worth spending any significany money on.
