i wouldnt call those guys
top tier, they are good and reliable receivers, but not top tier…top tier would be guys like Holt, Moss, T.O., Ocho Cinco, Steve Smith, Andre Johnson….the guys u mentioned are a notch or 2 below that

Antonio Bryant
has gone over 1000yds exactly twice in his career, and convienently had a career year on the eve of his impending free agency. There’s a reason he’s played for 4 teams in 6 years and is about to make it 5. I’m not buying him.
Gaffney is like a slow version of Ginn. Of course he looks good with Moss and Welker around him.
Housh I will agree with, he’s definitely a top tier WR, but he’s on the wrong side of 30 for us.
Engram is an old man. He’ll be 37 soon, and he ain’t exactly Jerry Rice.
Baskett is far from elite. He’s got the big body we’re looking for, but he’s a RFA, meaning Philly can either match an offer or just tender him and receive draft picks from the team signing him.

not top tier at all
Well maybe Housemadellah.
Anyway is anyone shocked to see how far Michael Claytonhas fallen? WTH happened to him?

So I'm looking through it for potential targets and such
Hank Baskett, a guy that a few bloggers here wanted to sign as a WR, is a Restricted, meaning it’ll cost draft picks to get him.
Trai Essex, Max Starks, and Marvel Smith, 3 OT’s from Pittsburgh, are all Unrestricteds, as is one of their starting guards, Chris Kemoeatu.
Jason Brown, Baltimore’s starting C, is a UFA, but so is Al Johnson, our current backup C.
Gabe Watson, giant DT from Arizona, is a Restricted FA, and they have the cap to match any offer.
No real HUGE named this year outside of Asomugha and Haynesworth.
"Are we doing this? Is this happening?"
Jesus, why would we go after Pitts OL?

All are young
and all are big. For depth, it wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Asomugha and Haynesworth
would be a dream come true, to bad they aren’t going anywhere
A feeding frenzy is about to take place in the dirty south
Nice Matty
This will be great for the FA signings. My picks are resign Carey Bell Goodman and possibly Hill depending on how much he wants. Then I want Chris Canty cuz he was a Cowboy and that is all Tuna will need to know and that will make Holliday expendable. Then try for Shaun Cody he will probably be a minimum investment but who knows it could work he has the size. Dansby will be our 1 expensive FA hopefully. After that check Leonhard or Sanders either one would be a great safety I think even more than Otogwe. Finally my top realistic corner is McFadden from Steelers and if not him try Hayden or Bartell or Greer.
Does a "well done" count the same as a "well said?"
Chris Canty would be a bigtime pickup
He’s a natural born 3-4 DE. I missed him the first time around because I always get him confused with Shaun Ellis, and I think he’s in his mid-30’s.
I think Leonhard benefits from having Reed play alongside him, because even if he makes a mistake Ed can make up for it. I like Sanders and Otogwe as safeties, and McFadden would be a pretty solid CB pickup.

Yeah
I agree with you on Leonhard I have a feeling he will be a Jest =) Canty is like 26 I think not really sure and I was on walterfootball and he seemed to think that Cody would be a better 3-4 than 4-3 but even if he just pushes Soliai I would be happy.

I also like Canty.
And McFadden is a very, very, very underrated CB. When you play on a team with Polamalu and the LB corp taking all of the credit, it’s easy to be overshadowed at CB.

turning every
rock over looking for talent and with just the guys I mentioned would simplify our draft needs significantly

definitely
the more needs we can fill in FA, whether it’s by keeping our own guys or signing new ones, gives us more draft flexibility and doesn’t pigeonhole us into HAVING to take certain positions because we have no one there.

my thing is
why pay soooo much for someone like peppers or haynesworth when we don’t even know if either can even play a 3-4?

Haynesworth I agree with
he’s a 4-3 DT, but Peppers I can almost guarantee would be a ridiculous SOLB in the 3-4. Dude is an athletic freak, and I don’t think he’d have any problems working in space standing up. However, I don’t even know if we’re in the market for a top flight OLB (which is what we would expect Peppers to be) in FA anymore. The Wake signing gives us a guy to rotate in with Porter on the weakside, and, while I’d love to see Peppers brought in to play strongside, I think we may end up drafting a guy there to compete with Roth instead. Porter has a big cap number, so unless something happens with him, I don’t think we’ll lock in that much money in the LB position, especially considering how much Crowder or a replacement for him might be.

I would love
Stintim or Cushing in rd 1 or Matthews in rd 2 only thing is Stintim would be the better pass rusher and Cushing the better cover lb. I personally like Stintim better but with Wake and Porter as pass rushers I think we need a coverage OLB

Sintim I think would be the better pick
simply because he comes in having already played in a 3-4 defense. Cushing or Matthews would be learning a new scheme, and there’s no guarantee they fit in the 3-4, having played in USC’s 4-3 scheme for their whole career.
And, consider that one of the best defensive players in the league was an UDFA (James Harrison) and I believe Parcells can find a guy similar on day 2 of the draft.

Last year
Chris Long said Stintim was a better pass rusher than himself so I love that pick and I think you can never have too many good LBs. I can see us taking 3 or 4 this draft alone, and I will trust whoever the Trifecta chooses
