Dolphins closing in on deal with Kevin Burnett
http://www.profootballcentral.com/2009/02/28/dolphins-close-to-a-deal-with-kevin-burnett/
Glad to see we've been working on something without anyone really knowing.(except this random website reporting)
Anyone have an opinion on Leonard Weaver. Seems solid. He's 26 and from Cocoa, FL. The trifecta shuffled the FB position all year. Research on Weaver shows good blocking as well as short yardage. Any chance we take a look at Tank Johnson? Maybe some upside. Please NO vet receivers.

I will say this......
he’s got size and ability. And once again, he is someone that Parcells and Sparano are familiar with. I’m just not trusting the source though……even your link doesn’t even say anything concrete. Once again…..we’ll see.

I agree.....
and size…….the intangibles are known by Parcells and Sparano……………..IF ITS TRUE. Maybe you broke a big one, maybe this is just more like Nicky says….“toss a bunch of crap against the wall and see what sticks” reporting. Sprovo, bud, not getting down on you ok?

Re: Weaver
I have to disagree on the FB position – there was not a lot of shuffling and I think the trifecta already found one with Polite – 23 carries last year and 15 first downs – the guy was a beast on 3rd or 4th and short and blocked fairly well (nice avg for a FB too with 3.7 ypc). This offense obviously doesn’t need any big production out of that position except for short yardage situations and polite came thru huge.
I cant find it anyware
but here are his stats for 2008
38 tkls 2 sacks 1FF
Height 6-3
Weight 242 lbs.
Age 26
Position LB
Experience 4 years
College Tennessee
his age is the only upside i see, i dont follow the cowboys i could be wrong
A feeding frenzy is about to take place in the dirty south
special teams
decent back up, 4 starts in 4 years will provide depth IF he can make the team.

thats whats crazy....
our eyes don’t “see” what Parcells and Sparano saw…..They have good insights on players they’ve picked so far………I’ll trust them IF this is even something to talk about.. I’m tired of waisted time on rumours and what ifs. When I see they are Dolphins, then its time to talk.

not sayin anything, if this is true
I trust in the Tuna. He has that knack for finding and spotting talent. Lets see what unfolds though, before we get our hopes up.

timing? karma? too little pasta?
Tuna’s calling “his” cowboys back to the fold, er, school…
"Open the pod bay doors, HAL."
not "his cowboys"
but his talent……….What is so funny is, Jerry Jones who wants high profile players to simply sell tickets is selling off some great talent really cheap. I mean, look what we got for ONE 4th round pick last year? Let him be a fool and let us build talent because he is a fool. We are winning games on guys that don’t sell tickets and aren’t on ESPN every night. Hmmmm…which would you rather have? Jerry seems to know, I mean…….its worked so well for him in the last uh..how many years since Dallas has been in the playoffs?

Torbor and Walden
will be competing for the same spot,we know Torbor is ok, the team is high on Walden, who is younger and stouter. not trying to be killjoy, but it is what it is, Burnett has been in NFL 4 years he has 4 starts.

Burnett huh?
A Cowboy, well that explains the story. We might only need to draft one linebacker now.
