Around SBN: Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant's Post-Game 5 Outfits

The deal is for 5 years and worth $37.5 million - including $20 million in guaranteed money. In my opinion, $7.5 million per season is too much for a center. I hope Jason enjoys his stay in St. Louis, playing for a team that still seems like it's a mess.

Now it's more than likely that we can look forward to the Dolphins spending a day one draft pick on a center.

Well I guess that answers the question in the article below this one doesn't it?

Damn. But, that puts my choice of Unger back on the table.

no big surprise

just never did believe the team would spend an extra 5-6 mil per year to try and upgrade at center…

i’ll go out on a limb again and say – i don’t think they’ll spend a day 1 pick for a center….

my guess is pick 1 will be a LB.
pick 2 &3 will be either CB, DT, WR (dang there is a lot of speed in this group)

$7.5mil is too much

that’s high-end Guard money isn’t it? I’m good to draft one.

Short Term Jackass

This guy will look back on his career and wish he had went with a contender for less money. Money gets spent. Losing over and over really sucks.

If Laverneus Coles doesn’t become a free agent, I think we would see a different story. . Coles comes to Miami, we have a stupendous draft, and we’re a legitimate contender. FOR A SUPER BOWL. I’m thinking the year after next, but shit, this would make things interesting. I really hope Cameron Wake is a fucking monster.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Coles sign a 3 year deal, 6 mil a year for the dolphins. We’re into story book stuff here in Miami, and how sweet it would be for Chad and Laverneus to do it here at home.

At least we know he won’t be destroying our secondary twice a year. That’s a signing in it’s self!

Coles does not make us a Super Bowl contender

We were a contender last year. It’s all presumptive at this point. I’m just very excited. The AFC east was supposed to be the toughest division in football with the Favrian Jets, the Edwardian Bills, and even the posthumous Bradyless Patriots. Those teams were all super bowl picks throughout the year. Um, the Dolphins won the division and were overmatched by a superior defense in the first round by a team that granted us our only victory a year prior. A few controversial calls go the other way, and the Ravens are in the Super Bowl, and probably would have won in a similar fashion as did the steelers. Coles doesn’t make us a super bowl contender, but the nearly identical team from last year sure does.

Last year was great

but I don’t think that team is a contender for a Super Bowl. Take a look at where all our wins came from.

2 vs the Bills – last in the division
2 vs NE and NYJ – quality
3 vs NFC West – worst division in football, only loss was to the division champ
4 vs – AFC West – second worst division in football
Only one win vs a playoff team (San Diego)

Last year was a magical ride, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It was the most exciting season I’ve ever been a part of as a Dolphins fan.

But this team still has too many holes to be legit Super Bowl contender IMO. I’m an eternal optimist, and I would like nothing more than to be in the Super Bowl this year, but I’m not anticipating it, and I seriously doubt Coles is the final piece that will get us there.

Chad Pennington a good friend of Laveranues Coles but won’t lobby Dolphins to sign him

Free Agents...

It seems like Keith Jackson was the last impact free agent we signed….or maybe that was a trade…don’t remember. But we just never have made a splash, so none of this surprises me.

But all these guys making the big money started as rookie draft picks once…and that’s the way it appears we will find our gems..

just a fyi......

under the current FA which started in ’93, Keith Jackson was among the first signed. Personally, he never was the same after he got the big bucks.

No way dude-

Didn’t you ever read about Samson & Delilah? His hair gives him his strength! Without it – the big nose tackles in our division would just push him around and. . . oh. . .

Well- he still needs it to help make weight- every ounce counts!

If he makes the team he’ll either sell least amount of jerseys than anybody in the history of the nfl, or outsell the American Apparell “Legalize Gay” tee(glee)-shirt. It’s all speculative.

By the by, I’m all about Gay Rights, Rights they deserve, but stereotypes, and harsh jokes are so much more fun than politically correct humor

Fagg Ginn Cammarillo has a ring to it, don’t it?

I’m not sweating. I don’t want a guy who only cares about money on our team anyway. And if you “choose” to play for the Rams, then WE know there’s only one thing you care about.

Take care of the little things, and the big things will take care of themselves.
