Rumor: Phins to make Strong PUSH for J. Brown
at first i ready this on Mando's blog... and i hardly take anything he says seriously, but know Jeff Darlington is reporting the Phins have been rumored thoughout the Combine to make a strong push for the FA Jason Brown:
According to Jeff Darlington of the Miami Herald, speculation "continued to build" at the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis that the Dolphins will pursue Brown as a replacement for Samson Satele.
Darlington writes that several league sources believe the Fins are hoping for Brown to not re-sign with the Ravens and to enter free agency on Friday.
A cynical mind might be tempted to think that the Dolphins already have been talking to Brown's agent, Harold Lewis, about a possible deal. Of course, such communications would constitute tampering.
Then again, last year the Dolphins had a deal in place with guard Justin Smiley only 27 minutes into the free-agency period.
Maybe this time around the Fins will be a bit more discreet, waiting at least until 1:00 a.m. EST on Friday.

me too
it is rarely true that a single player can fix many problems, but in this case, Brown would single handedly make the entire run game better.

I wouldn't be surprised if we sign him-
that way it frees us up to take Percy Harvin in the 1st since OLB, OT, and C will be taken care of- and there will be no ILB worth taking at 25. . . .

if we got Brown we would have one of the most expensive o-lines in football
BUT HOW CAN WE AFFORD THIS?? here it comes here it comes ………. well THROUGH building our team through the draft, how ? We would have one of the most expensive O-Lines in Football but at the same time we would have one of the cheapest D-Lines in football getting ready to start 2 sophomores with rookie contracts. Thats how you work the magic with the draft

and hopefully one of the BEST o-lines is football
which is why Brown is worth the money

not only that, but you are talking about a temporary situation
the Oline makes everyone on offense better. It also lets you develop other positions, like QB and WR, as well as get everyone on the same page with a new play book. All the while, Olinemen are one of the easiest positions to develop with later draft picks if you don’t need them to start right away. eventually, you will have young draftees taking the place of the FA signings.

I actually think they will draft an ILB at 25
Cushing, Laurinaitis, Matthews…one of them should be available and they can all play ILB in a 3-4.

sorry, you got the time wrong.
that would tend to look like tampering, since there is no way they could even dial his agent that fast…..
no, the time will be 12:09.

K. I'm gonna close my eyes,
and imagine…. the Phins huddle breaks. Long, Thomas, Satele, Carey, and Brown trot up to the line. R & R are doin’ the wildcat while Penne’s scanning the D.
I’ll take that most expensive O line!

According to the Baltimore Sun via the Miami Herald, Brown's agent, Lewis said,
‘’A lot of players are all about [what team] can get me the most,’’ agent Harold Lewis, who represents Brown, told The Baltimore Sun. ``I’m pretty blessed in having clients who aren’t about who is the highest. It’s who is the best fit."
I wanna play for Trifecta, with Jake….

this ain’t right
A cynical mind might be tempted to think that the Dolphins already have been talking to Brown’s agent, Harold Lewis, about a possible deal. Of course, such communications would constitute tampering
a cynical mind might think that the sampson thing is all a smoke screan to get bmore to spend too much on brown so they can’t pay scott…
I still don’t think they’ll throw 6 mil a year at a center when they have one making 600k who played all year injured and was pretty good the year before…
