Parcells on Sirius

Just a nice quick read I found.

Fins: Parcells on Sirius NFL Radio
> Posted by Ethan J. Skolnick at 10:57:06 PM

Bill Parcells was on NFL Sirius Radio tonight, with Howard David.

Some highlights:

-- He said that he promised H. Wayne Huizenga, before taking the job, that he would stay through at least two drafts.

-- He said of working with Stephen Ross: "I think it's going to work out fine."

-- He acknowledged that the Dolphins will have "a much more difficult schedule" and "we're going to have to have a better team on the field to do what we did last year."

-- "I think Tony (Sparano) did a magnificent job. I certainly wasn't involved in the coaching. He's the one who molded the team... He established law and order. I think the players have a good deal of confidence in him. I think he showed a very human and passionate side. He was very tough on them, but he showed he was passionate too."

-- He said Chad Pennington "brought a confidence," and that "the coaching staff did a very very good job with him." He called Pennington "a very good leader" and "a very good game manager," while acknowledging "that also is a little bit limiting from time to time in terms of taking a chance here or there." He said that the Dolphins ranked in the top-5 in the league in the Discipline Index stat that the team tracks, and that Pennington deserved credit for "at least a major portion of that."

-- He said that he expected about 18 new players on the roster at the start of next season.

-- On Lawrence Taylor going on Dancing with the Stars: "I haven't left him a voicemail, but I can assure you that will be forthcoming." He said he was talking to Dan Henning about it tonight.

He'd definitely be better than Kiper and McShay

I like when he’s in the studio sitting next to Keyshawn.. Key always seemed to be looking over his shoulder while he was talking lol.

Bill said.........

“I will only leave when I feel Sparano and Ireland have things well in hand”……or something like that…… This is his last stop, he’s having fun, doing what he wants, and has more money than he knows what to do with. I’m done worrying. When Parcells leaves, that means, that he feels Sparano and Ireland can do the job……………works for me.

good thing he's never said this before
is his last stop, he’s having fun, doing what he wants, and has more money than he knows what to do with

think he said that after he left the gmen and took his first TV job…
the guy is about 3 things money, ego, & football and that order changes pretty frequently with the guy… (not that any of that is bad – it’s just he lies a little more friendly than saban)

so would it surprise me that come may he’s back at ESPN with 12 mil from the phins in his pocket… NOPE

and next year (2010) he’ll be back picking up the pieces with the jets….

you poor baby...........

you weren’t hugged as a child……… It must suck being a “doom and gloomer” Also, your booze intake must be incredible. I’m going on record saying that Parcells stays with the Dolphins for not just next year……but for 2 years at least. After that……Ireland and Sparano take the helm and guide this ship to glorious waters. What joy do you even get from life? All you do is bitch…….

whose bitching

other than you —-

all i did was point out that parcells – double talks where ever he goes. everyone knows this, or at least anyone who pays attention does. the guy is a merc. plain and simple… and before you go and throw your party – you should read what he said…

he promised he would stay for two Drafts…

now will the franchise be in better shape than it was a year ago yup. will better people be running it than a year ago yup.
will they still be rebuilding yup…

so who is unhappy – now if the team can ever find a franchise QB – i’ll throw a party and maybe even invite you.
