Some Dolphins Free Agency Buzz
The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson checks in again with some news on Miami's free agents. Highlights include:
-Dolphins spoke with Channing Crowder again but aren't in a hurry to up their previous offer - an offer Crowder calls "a special-teams contract." Jackson expects Crowder to likely end up somewhere else.
-Dolphins talking numbers with Andre Goodman - but a deal isn't close.
-Talks with Yeremiah Bell will "intensify" next week at the Scouting Combine. Jackson says the Fins "very much want to keep him."
-Dolphins "working hard" to reach a long-term deal with Vernon Carey - and could use the franchise tag if no deal is in place by February 19 (the deadline to use the tag).

I'm fine
with Crowder going elsewhere, but only we go hard at one of the other FA linebackers, such as Lewis, Scott, or Dansby, and actually get one of them…if we just lazily go after one of them, then i will be pissed for not keeping Crowder…but i dont think that should be a problem with this regime, i think i am still stuck on how it was before BP, Sparano and Ireland got here

Matty all over the place
Bringing us all the news. I don’t have to go to any other Dolphins site anymore thanks to Matty and all of you and your work to keep us all updated.
Thanks!

It almost sounds like the talks
b/t Crowder and the regime are beginning to become negative. I’m sure they don’t like him making this stuff public, and calling their offer a special teams contract is pretty disparaging.
"They say statistics are for losers, but losers are usually the ones thinking that. . . . Everything we do is analyzed. Is that the bottom line? No. You can't analyze the heart of Tim Tebow." - Urban Meyer
true
i posted earlier that i didnt even see a 4mill starting offer, what does this guy think he is. Dont like his attitude either. He´s a goner. Lewis not gonna happen, Dansby neither but lets hope Scott does.
The Crowder situation
as well as our success, or lack thereof, in bringing one of the FA ILB’s in here, will, IMO, determine our draft strategy. Either the position is pretty much set and we won’t need to draft one until day 2, if at all… or it’s a glaring need and should be addressed on day 1, possibly in the first round. I think it’s imperative not to lose more than one of these guys on defense, because that would leave multiple holes to fill immediately, and keep us from addressing other needs
