yeah this is a very weird 2 people to compare

but if there’s any rookie receivers i would potentially trade for him it would be Nicks.

hey dolphinsinbuffalo

I haven’t been seen you around, but wanted to congratulate your Dolphins on their win Sunday. We had a bunch of unhappy campers at the house, but we’ll live. The season isn’t over yet and the division just got a heck of a lot more interesting. Funny which team “finished” in the 4th and which team folded. Wish Miami could have done that against Indy and New Orleans too though, lol.

Keep the faith!

lol yeah, we wish so too.

Thanks for the congrats, I stopped over after the game and said good game to you guys but you must not have been around. The win did one thing, it will make it interesting the rest of the year. Although it did another thing too, gave me grey hair lol. I’ll be watching you guys closely and although I want us to win the division, I will only be truly disappointed if the Jets get it hah but that’s not happening.

Vontae

If we don’t take Vontae — odds are Jason Allen or gulp Eric Green would be starting right now.

And we don’t win today.

Only because I believe CB is more important than WR

I picked Vontae. Tough to say though, because I think if we had Britt instead of Davis, we’d all probably vote for Britt in this poll..

also very important wr is much easier to be a rookie and excel

it takes much longer for cbs to learn the nfl game than it does for wrs. the system and complications of a defense are harder to learn and understand than running routes.

ill take vontae though, we really needed cbs for the future and we got em. i love that we dont need to worry about that position

Vontae is a monster.

Three picks as a rookie. I expected Smith to be more of a ball-hawk than Vontae this year, but three interceptions (including a pick six) says a hell of a lot about a trial-by-fire type of season.

QBs barely throw at Smith and Vontae picks off some of the balls that do come his way. Paul Pasqueloni REALLY needs to learn how to double-cover the right receiver, and once we get a DC who knows how to coach these guys up the right way (and they’re given time to adjust and learn), we will be unthrowable (?) against.

Vontae all day

Receiver is an area of concern for us, but Vontae has completely lived up to the expectations that came with the #25 overall pick.

If I had told you before this season that Vontae would pick Tom Brady in both our games against New England, would you have believed me?

As of now, Vontae was absolutely the right pick at #25. He’s already a huge part of our defense.

Vontae is the only thing keeping our secondary together

He is fantastic against the run (Winfield good)

He lines up against other teams best WR and still holds his own. I’m just waiting for next year when Vontae will be attacking WR’s and not the other way around.

Vontae’s hands are VERY good. Everyone of his INT’s were very difficult passes to intercept. Taking the ball right from under Randy Moss is no easy feat.

I am loving this pick of course. Now its up to Sean Smith to step up big time and show what he can do. He is the guy that looks like a rookie out there. He is in perfect coverage usually but never seems to turn his head around fast enough to see the ball. Hopefully he can make this adjustment and have a great rest of the year

I probably know Judo! How many of you can make the same boast?

Smith should go back to #31

It seemed like he was making it rain while wearing that number.

I think Sean Smith has played at least at the level of Vontae.

There’s a reason Vontae gets targeted more…

Smith almost had a sick interception yesterday, but offensive pass interference kept him from coming down with it. Of course it wasn’t called, but Aiken grabbed on to Smith’s jersey well before the ball arrived. Anyway, Smith is remarkable… he in no way looks like a rookie.

Definetly Britt. We were and are still clamoring for that number 1 Wr. Britt is already making big time catches and plays.

This is nothing against Davis, because honestly I like him and the future is bright at the CB position, but if you would’ve asked me during draft day it would have been Britt. If you would ask me right now, It’ll still be Britt. Ask me again in 10 years..still probably would be Britt.

Here is my thought

Top tier CBs are harder to find than good WRs. There are more #1 WRs out there than there are #1 CBs. I think that Vontae will develop into a consistant pro bowl CB where as Britt will be one of the numerous “Good” WRs.

I think for the Dolphins, Davis was a better pick. Maybe Tenn thought they needed talent at the WR more than they needed a CB. Who knows. I think both teams are happy with their picks at this point and neither will be a draft bust.

by Vanman_FishFan13 on Dec 10, 2009 3:31 PM EST up reply actions

I understand

I think he will be great too, but I see Davis as something extremely rare, and knowing the Parcells regime the way that I do, you know he would take a potential lock down corner 10 times out of 10 over a talented WR.

As I stated, I think both teams have really good picks that will go down in the 10% of the draft. Besides it’s all about personal preference and opinion.

Vontae ALL DAY.

I feel like we are going to address the WR position this off-season. We really do have a great supporting cast in WR but we still need that #1 threat. I like Britt, but when you can get a carrer corner, I say take him, and we did. Actually we got two. I say great pick up.

Obviously there were 4 JETS fans who voted

Great post, However clearly there were 4 JETS fans who voted for Teddy Bear. To verify that do another vote on Drew Brees or Jamar Fletcher! I bet those 4 JETS fans will make their presence noted!

by DAVEBUCK on Dec 7, 2009 10:33 AM EST reply actions

V. Davis is one of the two or three most talented CB’s in the league. He’s already beginning to put it together. Save for Moss’s big TD catch (Wilson’s fault – not Davis’s), he shut down Randy.

Britt might be a very good WR. He’s not yet. Davis is already a very good CB. There are WR’s in this next draft that I like a good deal better than Britt. If we don’t land a FA, we can go after them.

We wake & blunder on, / wiser, on the whole, / but not more accurate.
