Defensive Idea

We all hate Gibril Wilson. No coverage skills. He is a strong safety playing the wrong position (FS). Also, we like to bash Yeremiah Bell for his coverage issues. I like him though, he's a player. Now we have two SS starting. In today's professional passball league, that DOES NOT WORK! Here's the idea.

Switch either Bell or Wilson to OLB and let Chris Clemons start. This takes an offseason. The Bucs did it with Jermaine Phillips, why not try? That why, Porter and Taylor get more rest and the FO can save face. Meanwhile, Clemons can catch up to receivers and at least runs towards the ball. Can't be worse, right? Bell is the better candidate, but I would rather tell Wilson to bulk up and move.

if it works in practice, why not, i guess

whenever we bring gibril in to blitz, something good happens, or at leas every time i notice that he is blitzing, he might be alright there

OK First of all

They tried it with Jermaine phillips in a 4-3 Tampa 2 defense and it didnt even work out.
Now in our system the 3-4 the outside linebacker is more of a Defensive end hybrid so thats just plain crazy

I dont see why it is such a ridiculous idea. Just by logic, all Bell does well is stop the

run, the couldn’t cover a +50 point spread against Oakland.

Bell can cover his limitations open up a lot more when he has no real FS, like i would

expect any SS that isn’t a freak of nature like troy polamalu.

well i like it he's a good runstopper anyways just make him build some weight and bam he's good

besides he’s probrbaly better at covering TE’s than our LBrs are.
