Hello everyone,
I'm a daily reader of The Phinsider and a Miami Dolphins season ticket holder. Matty does a tremendous job here and we are all very fortunate to have such a great fan community. I'm crafting this post to request all of you to take a few minutes of your day to Click This Link and vote for Lousaka Polite's admission to this year's Pro Bowl.
Lou, as Coach Sparano affectionately refers to him, is by far one of the hardest workers on the team, has over come many difficulties, and by all accounts has proven himself to be an incredible fullback. Has everyone seen his lights-out block on Bart Scott during our "Orange Out" MNF home game against the Jest back in early October? (Click Here if not).
In a league where the fullback position is often ignored, and rarely praised, I believe it's wholly disappointing that he has not received much recognition for his insane contributions week in and week out, at least not from the media nor our beat writers... despite the seemingly weekly accolades that Coach drops in his press conferences. In his recent post-game interview after our battle with the Panthers, Coach Sparano made specific mention to Lou having sat several Carolina defenders on their butts during his blocking efforts, while stressing what a rare phenomenon that was in today's NFL.
Sure, he may be little more than a "role player" as some would suggest, but his work ethic, attitude, and love for all things physical and punishing when it comes to lead blocking just make me excited in the pants to watch him each week. Not to mention the fact he just may be the first fullback in years to earn the title "Automatic" with his ferocity and tenacious will to seemingly breeze through and complete those 3rd/4th and Shorts.
Just because the networks and ESPN don't notice and highlight these things, doesn't mean we can't make a splash for Lousaka if we rattle our sabers. For our unrecognized, under-the-radar, blue-collar, skull-crushing, and selfless team player who NEVER leaves his heart in the locker on gameday, let's rally for one of the most deserving Pro-Bowl nominations we've had in a while.
If we're loud enough, perhaps a few of our fellow AFC East Division members here at SBNation will vote as well.... (Wishful thinking, I'm sure...)
