Amazing how similar the stats are performance for all rookie QBs in the first round, even though the teams that they went to were very different.

It is WORTH it to get a caretaker QB and let your franchise QB sit for a year (especially one of Chad Pennington's character and skills).

It is wiser (if possible) to find a QB in the second round and develop him than to pay oodles of cash and risk your franchise on the gamble that you've scouted out a franchise QB in the first round. Cash that you can invest in a good OFFENSIVE LINE and RUNNING BACK.

Larry English or even Robert Ayers would have been a better choice than Aaron Maybin.
