Dolphins 2010 Opponents Confirmed
The NFL confirmed the Dolphins' 2010 opponents in terms of which games will be at home and which will be on the road. As it looks, it's a very tough road schedule.
Home - Jets, Patriots, Bills, Browns, Steelers, Lions, Bears, AFC South team that finish in same slot
Away - Jets, Patriots, Bills, Ravens, Bengals, Packers, Vikings, AFC West team that finishes in same slot
Ouch. That's road games in Baltimore, Cincinnati, and Green Bay to go with the usual trips to Foxborough, Jersey, and Buffalo. Not to mention there's a good chance that the "AFC West opponent" turns out to be Denver. Prepare for some cold-weather games in 2010. But hey - at least these aren't our typical Dolphin teams. It seems as though this team can handle the cold.

Cool!
I like right down the road from Cincinnati, I’ll be going to that game.
Staring down Mark Sanchez. Just look into the those brown beauties.
Next Year
Is our year not saying this year is over…not by a long shot but When i was reading this I would usual get a little worried but the way this teams battles im just pumped!!!!
NO COMMENT LOL
I will share my thoughts on the schedule for next season once this season is finished. Its not like we don’t have enough time for that lol although I will say this … I like the looks of it so far
Dammit. I was hoping the Chicago game would be IN Chicago
Now I have to travel to shitty Green Bay :-(
Arrelious Benn in 2010!
Same here.
I was hoping to make a road trip up to Chi-town to see this game. My wife has a couple of friends up there that are Bears fans so we would have had a place to stay and had a good time. Guess now I have to try and hit up my friends that live in Wisconsin and see about heading to Lambeau.

I plan on making the Packer game also, im in Iowa and about a 3-4 maybe 5 hr drive.
Leading the Kory Sperry bandwaggon!!
Finally a game in Baltimore… hopefully I will be able to go for that one!
But hey, we got a pretty good shot at winning out at home. If we do that, that is 8 wins, and so we would only need 2 or 3 tough road wins to be essentially guaranteed a playoff spot.
Glad to see we have the Jets at home
I hate going to NY to play them ;-)

All the road games will be tough, the home games seem easy

Baltimore
I will be at that game since my brother is a dolphins fan also and lives 45minuets from the stadium. Last time the dolphins played there we saw sage rosenfels hit chambers on the first play from scrimmage.
What's the big deal?
I saw this on the Miami Herald too and it was saying how the Dolphins have it tough again. Okay, but it’s not that tough. This year’s schedule was a beast and after that I don;t think we will se one that tough for a while. This one isn’t easy, but not as difficult as it could be. Also, the flip side of playing the North divisions is that any of them that come down here in September will find it tough.
I don't know if this is all that important, but
we only have one west coast trip all year. Shoot, we only cross the Mississippi twice, and one of those times, just barely. That’s not great for those of us living out west, but at least it takes away from the additional travel stress that can get to some teams.
Interesting games...
Some “easy” games andd some really tough games. Plus the cold. Could be an exciting season (and by exciting I mean heart-attack causing).

You guys came up and did okay in the nasty cold in Kc last year
I think you are right when you say your team can play in the cold. They suprised me at that game last year.
no game is easy
not to be a prick, but every game is never easy. Look at when we played buffallo and we lost, look at the steelers losing 5 in a row to easy seeming teams? the dolphins have to play balls out every game from here on out even until I die they need to play balls out.
Hey Matty, who do you think the dolphins will pick out of 2010 first round draft? reciever or reciever? LoL and which reciever? or do you think the Great Tuna will actually a true young #1 reciever already in the league? ( I ask you only because your like the dolphins Guru)

Thus the quotations around the word easy...
No kidding every game is tough. But at the same time…wouldn’t you consider the Browns and Lions “easy” compared to the Vikings and Packers?
You’re not a prick, but when there are quotes on easy….there’s a good chance there’s an understanding that a game isn’t actually easy…
Not that you asked me, but as for the draft….I don’t think the Dolphins take a WR in the first round. Not Parcells’ style. I think they may make a push for Boldin in a trade, or else they wait until the second round. I think they look DT in the first round. I would love to see a WR in the first, but I don’t know how much of an impact a late 1st rounder will have over someone we can pick up in the second, FA, or trade. I would also love to see the Dolphins go after a TE-covering LB. Seems to be a big hole for us right now.

me too
as much as we all want a WR, dez bryant isn’t gonna fall to us and I don’t think there will be anyone on the board at that point worth taking over an ILB perfect for a 3-4, of which there will be plenty.
speaking of WR…another Ireland rookie free agent signing (a la Davone Bess…the guy has a knack for picking up talent on the fringes..), Miles Austin is due to become a F/A. They’ll obviously try and lock him down, but…just sayin’…
Living in Maryland and being Dolphins fan. I've been waiting for them to make a trip back this way again. My buddy has season tickets, so I'll be there for sure.
Also my best friend is a die hard Vikings fan and I just told him about it so, it looks like I might be going to two games next year. Can you say roadtrip. What happens on a road trip stays on the road trip. (lol)

talikg about SOS now is overrated
We had the toughest schedule in the league and we are on the verge of a Wildcard spot, we hung with every elite team we played, no one else scares me.

I don't know if this years team is handling the cold very well... Took a lot of inspiration to come back last week
And it wasn't that cold, really.

Obviously things change, but looking at it now...
it is a shame that so many “easy” games are at home, where we won’t need fan support and so many “tough” games are on the road to compound the difficulty.
I predict we will have a rematch next year with the New Orleans Saints (super bowl rematch?) and yet another road game at San Diego (rematch of AFC champtionship game?) because we will WIN the AFC East.
Dang, it really is tough to repeat as 2009-2010 Super Bowl Champions…

schedule
the Sun-Sentinel is reporting that our home game would be against the AFC South team who finishes in the same position as us, while our AFC West game will be away…anyone know which one it is?
That road schedule is a beast!
You could argue that the Phins are playing the two best teams from the AFC North (Bengals & Ravens) and the two best teams from the NFC North (Vikings & Packers) on the road.
Here is a prediction sure to go wrong: If the Phins want to go to the Playoffs next year, they will need to go 8-0 or 7-1 at home. Right now I don’t see more than 2 or 3 wins on the road next year.
What? Are you Nostradamus?

The thing is
That any given Sunday this could be a great schedule or it could be a horrible one. This season was supposed to be a tough one, but look at us.. It’s December and we still have a shot at the playoffs!! I really like the future of this team and I can’t wait to see what next year brings.
