Belichick Pulls out
If someone touched on this then please excuse this post.
Why with 5+ minutes in the Saints game do you pull starters out when you are only down by 2 touchdowns? Was that really a give up or the coach being a JackButt? I think it was disrespectful. As much as I hate to say this. They are the new england patriots. They have tom brady and randy moss. With those as well as an abundance of other weapons. Why do you just QUIT?
Thoughts please.

yknow, they did give up
i dont think it was a smart move, but maybe bellichet didnt want to risk injuring a palyer, he obviously thought that the game was in the bag already, so yea, but i disagree with not trying to win the game
Here is what really gets me.
They were beating the Dolphins as well as other teams exception TN, and they never pulled the starters out on either side of the ball. I can’t really buy the injury excuse.
not the type of post i was expecting after i read this title...

I'd go with the injury one.
Keep in mind that at the beginning of the season, we were still looking for an identity (which we’ve semi-regained) and we were pretty healthy. Now, we’re down to our 4th tackle, 3rd guard and 2nd center. I’d look at it at giving up. However, it’s sometimes smart to cut your losses and move on to next week. Everyone can say that “oh, the Colts came back from that deficit and so did the Saints themselves.” Well the Pats defense isn’t that good (as shown) and the Saints have the best offense in the league. There was no way the Patriots would come back from that deficit. It was late in the game, which meant that the Saints would throw all their defense in the secondary and no matter how good Welker and Moss are, they can’t catch when they’re double or triple covered. It exposed a real need for us to get a big play 3rd receiver (Aiken is good, but maybe as a 4th option). If we’re throwing passing plays, that just increases the risk for Moss, Welker and Brady to get injured, especially when the Saints were able to walk right through the O-Line.
The Pats gave up, but it’s better to live and fight another day when there’s still a lot of football left to play.
I might be able to get
onboard with this explanation coming from a PATS fan obviously. Just being a competitor myself i would have been more than miffed at not having the chance to fight back. These are after all grown men with PRIDE.
as for the rest of my DOLFIN SICKO BROTHERS. Get you your minds out the gutter lol.

Another thing to consider is how little the non-conference game meant for the season.
We have three conference games left (two are divisional) that are much more important for the season. Last year, the Pats and Dolphins tied 11-5, but the Dolphins had the better conference record.
The Pats weren’t going to win that game the way the O-Line and Brady were playing. Our defense definitely wasn’t going to give us any points. I think Hoodie was just moving on to the next game five minutes early.
Do I agree with it? I’ve got mixed feelings, but I can see where he’s coming from. One injury (say to Brady) in a garbage time scramble and everyone would have wondered why he didn’t go to the backup sooner.

I feel like Belliache is a big....
BABY. I think he was mad because they were getting beat and yanked his starters out of spite. What a bitch.
i thought they were down by 3 scores @ the point he pulled out his starters?
idc, i thought it was funny to see him have to concede a loss. they got SPANKED nasty and he knew the tide wasnt going to change, i just wished NO had run up the score on them
Me too.
Sometimes that’s what it takes to motivate a team.
I worked for the Cardinals last year, and it worked for the Titans so far this year.

yeah it was 38-17 with 5 mins left when the Pats took the field again, so it was a 3 score difference, not even Tom Brady & Randy Moss could overcome that in 5 mins
i think Vince Young is what worked for the Titans.
Too bad it hasn’t worked for the Dolphins :(
