Grove playing 3/4 of a season? Who saw that coming?

Oh Yeah, Everyone! If it weren’t for the Wilson FA signing, Grove would be the biggest FA bust this year! What a waste!

IMO

grove partially responsible for improving us from 11th ranked rushing to 3rd ranked rushing offense

Grove has played well when he's been healthy

But he is never healthy for a full year!

He is a very good player, for 12 weeks or less every year. You can’t give a guy a big contract who can’t stay healthy and Grove’s history is that he can’t stay healthy. That is why this signing was a waste.

in my eyes waste is ernest wilford, eric green, gibril wilson

out of this front offices signings grove is a decent one

At least you can count on Wilson to play every week.

With a 53 man roster, injuries kill a team. To purposely sign a player that has a history of injuries is irresponsible. If Berger was the starter the entire year, would the phins be worse in the run game? I think he has played well the last 3 weeks. If there is not that much drop off between Grove and Berger, what could the phins have done with the $5 million a year given to Grove? Could that help pay for a #1 WR? A playmaking LB? Someone to contribute 16 weeks instead of 12?

i agree completely

on the side note- i wish wilson was NOT playin every week
back to grove: i never really like the signing, wanted jason brown, but i still stand firm that compared to wilford, green, wilson the grove signing is solid. i agree completely tho that the money could have been spent better. and you cant anticipate injury even with the history. if hes healthy when u sign him u expect him to be healthy the entire year.

Grove has been an amazing signing...

With injured guards all year he has anchored our interior O-line and has allowed our offense to run like crazy…

Also, i wish Wilson wasn’t playing every week so we could have Clemons in there and maybe actually cover someone

I'm in between on Grove,

he’s been decent, he has not been worth the high price and in his 6 year career he has played in all 16 once, this is just the 3rd year he has even started 10+ games, 16 in 06, 12 last year and 10 so far this year, he is apparently injury prone and the O-line is the worst place for an injury prone guy.

We should have payed a little more and got J Brown who is a lot better imo.

not sure a waste

though it wi;; help if he stayed healthy. Thank god that bitched about FA signing of Berger happened :)

Grove is a beast.

We would not be in playoff contention this year had we not signed Jake Grove, plain and simple. You can get on him for injuries all you want, but even if this report is true Grove has already been healthy the vast majority of the season, which has allowed Berger more time to learn the system before having to fill in.

This seems like a very fickle thing to argue considering Grove will be back next week, if not Sunday. Who’s to say that the FO hasn’t decided that Berger will start even with a healthy Grove anyway?

Grove is infinitely better than Satele

You have an argument about signing an injury prone player to a big contract but that is a risk we had to take. With all the huge NT’s in our conference there is no way we are the 3rd ranked rushing team without him. It sucks he got hurt but that is why they play with a 53 man roster. Somebody has to step up. Remember Berger gets paid too

I probably know Judo! How many of you can make the same boast?

No matter which of them that starts. He has got to play at his best.....

In fact everyone on the field will have to play their best. Every game from here on out can either end or extend the season. We simply cannot have another loss !
