missing man
even though he wasn’t going to play for obvious reasons, i hope the Bengals line up with 10 men and throw up a fly down the sideline to no one. would be the appropriate salute to CH in my opinion.
You gotta hate to lose more than you want to win
GREAT IDEA!!!
you should post that on Cincy’s blog site, and have them hype it up until someone in their organization sees it, and puts the bug in Marvin Lewis’ ear for Sunday.
Of course Tom Brady has to marry someone with Giz in her name. How fitting???

Matty I think it's great how you posted this...
This is just terrible news. It’s a shame to see young people die in tragic ways.

I know he isn’t a memeber of our team, but i am really hurting over this news…i mean really bent out of shape about this….maybe it is because i am a first time father, and it makes you think of your own mortality, and think about your children being alone if God Forbid something would happen to me….Arghhh so young, and so soon!!! RIP brother!!!

Tragic
The guy was only 26. I hope this motivates them past the Chargers this weekend. It’s never easy to hear about anything like this.

Very sad....
And this coverage on ESPN has been sort of sickening…always making a point to show his past league offenses and reading off less than favorable quotes about him that were made years ago.
i feel you on that
it hard to watch…but Jim Rome and the Around the Horn guys had some nice things to say about him

I could not believe this story when it broke yesterday(?), sry my days are really out of whack this week
and again today when it broke that he has in fact passed away…such a shocking story, i had to stop for a second and absorb the news, both days…for a guy that did have numerous problems with the law, as we all know, that completely turned his life around and was on the right track, according to many that were close to him, is the part that shocked…i couldn’t believe a guy that did turn his life around, died in an incident like this…it’s a damn shame, RIP C.H.15

May you rest in peace.
The kid had a lot of potential, dissapointed that Dungy or someone in the same caliber didn’t look out for him when he needed it.
He kind of looked like one of the characters from Avatar.

yea 85 seemed to be the most emotional
now this may seem really dickish and ignorant, and whatever words you can think of BUT it seemed to me that, other than 85, the other people they showed talking about Henry didn’t seem to be all that emotional…now, don’t get me wrong, i know they must be feeling some pain and sadness for the loss of their friend, but normally when a player passes, there seems to be a lot more emotion and more guys crying, especially from the current and longtime teammates…this leads me to believe that Henry wasn’t too well liked or at least not that close to anyone IMO, now this is purely speculation from what i have seen today in the interviews regarding Henry’s death

Palmer let me down. I expected more out of him
by dolphinsinbuffalo on Dec 17, 2009 9:45 PM EST up reply actions
how so?
dude was probably still in shock, I’m surprised he addressed the media at all. I’m not sure I would be able to gather my thoughts well enough to put together a sentence, nevermind answer questions from 50 reporters..

He didn't take any questions. He just lacked emotion unlike Chad.

he looked pretty sad to me
I dunno how you can say he “let you down” because you don’t think he was emotional enough. Kinda screwed up if you ask me…

I mean when you can't get more offended over a snark comment I made over whether or not Palmer showed emotion
Kinda screwed up if you ask me…
like I’m going to lose sleep and stop liking him as a quarterback and NFL player, get real.
The point I was making is that Ochocinco was the only player that I saw show emotion.
by dolphinsinbuffalo on Dec 17, 2009 10:09 PM EST up reply actions
people grieve if different ways
we shouldn’t judge somebody because he was crying or wasn’t emotional
get real. like I was judging him. this shouldn't even be a conversation
the real question resides on why you had to get into this.
by dolphinsinbuffalo on Dec 18, 2009 11:38 AM EST up reply actions
but no where in it did it ask you to stop by and give your input
which as expected was completely against what I was saying. Furthermore it wasn’t even a reply to Nick and he still had to get in on it. Like you guys have nothing better to do than make sure your point is better than mine. I’m not judging Palmer, whatever the hell that means. The whole point I was making was that unlike Ochocinco, he didn’t seem as shaken up. Now regardless of whether he was showing his emotion or not, I was just making the point that Ochocinco was the most shaken up player from the Bengals. My whole entire point was that Ochocinco was so much more emotional that it made me emotional and that Palmer “let me down” in the sense that Ochocinco showed so much. You and Nicky just had to make sure that I seemed like a complete ass for what I said when in reality it was nothing bad.

hmmm
but no where in it did it ask you to stop by and give your input
that’s the whole point of a blog. every day i write stuff and I know some people will disagree and come at me with their opinions. That’s what a blog is.
You know, though – for you, I’ll ask first if I’m allowed to give my input.
yea i didn't realize we had to ask for permission either matty

When my Dad died, I didn't cry that much before the funeral.
He wanted me to make sure my Mom was taken care of. I took care of the funeral, getting the accounts switched over, the insurance paperwork, the pension paperwork, the social security paperwork and all that. When I had done what my Dad had asked, I completely fell apart for a few days. There’s a time to soldier on and a time to grieve. Don’t judge them.

Sorry, you said they didn't show enough emotion in your opinion.
I related my own story where I didn’t show emotion when people thought I should. The moral of the story is don’t judge people in that situation because everyone deals with it differently.
If you think the judging label applies to you, then by all means own it. If not, let it go. It’s not an attack or anything.

nah
i don’t think you did anything wrong. No worries.
We both just made our own comments. It was DIB who decided the comments were pointed in own direction.
I think quite a few of them were still in shock over the news
They heard about his death at a team meeting at about 10am, and the media was on them about 11am. I know from personal experience that the emotional reaction doesn’t always come that quickly when a friend goes down, and alot of them just may not grieve the same way that Chad does. Hard to really say how they felt about him based on the initial reaction of his teammates, especially when we really can’t say how they feel based on how they look or sound so soon after finding out..

R.I.P.
I really dont wanna be that guy but from what I’ve read he was banging on the window of a moving truck his fiancee was driving. I wonder what his intentions were.
nevertheless sad how it turned out. I think the bengals are gonna be a great story these coming playoffs
I t is a sad day
I lost my brother at a young age, it was years before I could talk about it even to family, everyone mourns in their own way…R.I.P you will be missed
RIP CH
I attended college w/ Chris at WVU from 03-05. He was by far the best WR I have seen in the Big East since Fitzgerald and remember at that time WVU was like 80% running plays. He was actually quite different then you might imagine, quiet and reserved, usually when you were in the same room with him you didnt even know he was in there. He definetley has had his up’s and downs but it seemed like he was finally getting his life on track. He was an amazing athlete who had not even come close to his full potential yet. My heart goes out to his family and children. I think when the real story comes out you will realize why and what Chris Henry was doing in that truck and people will began to view him in a different light but right now it is time to grieve a great player and teammate. You will be missed Slim #5.
My condolences to his family and all of those whose lives he touched.
I feel sorry for his children, but even more for his parents if they are still alive. No one should have to bury their kids.
