Following Sunday’s win at Jacksonville, cornerback Vontae Davis said he doesn’t feel like a rookie anymore.

He isn’t playing like one, either.

1. Davis’ confidence is growing every week.
Sunday, Davis overcame an opening-series benching by coach Tony Sparano to help hold Jags leading receiver Mike Sims-Walker to one catch for six yards.
"I blanketed my guy," he said. "I didn’t give him a chance to catch the ball."

Davis also played a key role on a couple of fourth-quarter defensive stops of Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew.

Earlier, Davis had taken a bad angle a 13-yard run by Drew on 4th-and-1, but helped stop him on a 3rd-and-4 with the game on the line. "I learned," Davis said.

Davis, 21, has been a fast learner because of he’s talented and fearless.

Since stepping in for injured veteran Will Allen, Davis has experienced a trial by fire, giving up touchdowns to Randy Moss, Steve Smith and Terrell Owens, who have a combined 16 Pro Bowl selections.

But every week he shows up eager for the next challenge and make plays.

"I’m comfortable," he said. "I’ve got a great DB coach … It’s only right."
