Playoffs...
The Dolphins may seem like they are down and out but they are not. Their next three games are the Bucs, Panthers, Bills. "If" they win those, they will be 6-5. The Patriots next three games are Saints, Panthers, Colts. If they lose two and win one they would be 7-4, Then they would come to Dolphins home stadium for the top spot in the AFC East pending the jets. The Jets are playing the Falcons, Colts, and Bengals to close out the season. They could also potentially lose to the Patriots, Jaguars, and Panthers. We also own the tiebreaker. one can only hope
I agree the next 3 games for n e are tough and if they drop 2 we still have a chance , but our defense needs to step up big, joey talked smack all week and didnt do shit. and where was jason , damn he usually chows out on brady meat. ginn while still not catching was ok at kick returns. still not sold on the pat white experiment either . i think maybe we need to be a little more consistant on our regular offense give henne a chance to win

Big Maybe
I think we can win our next couple of games as the schedule does lighten up but the biggest game in our chances of making the playoffs will be the next one against the Pats as that will be a must win, if we lose that game we have no chance. It does get harder aswell as we still would have to play the Texans(who we have never beat) and the Steelers(who will probably be fighting for a WildCard after the Bengles have taken the lead in there division)

It's not gonna happen. Not without a defense, quarterback and offensive coordinator.

well we have a QB
and our defense is good besides besides our pass rushers

hahahahahahahahahahahah wait...wait..wait.... hahahahahahhahahahaa oh man.
You lost me at “our defense is good”. Everybody else cares to explain how our Secondary is just unbelievably, scary bad? Thanks. Make sure you note as examples, the Colts game where Manning hit Clark for 70 yards and a TD on the first play of the game, as well as a similar play on the last play and cost us the game. Or, the Saints game where they put up more than 30 points through the air, and again cost us the game. Or today’s play against the Pats where Moss took the ball to the house on what was supposed to be a 10 yard gain max. Thanks

our secondary ant scary bad
like i said u cant blame everything on the secondary if Ur pass rushers are getting spanked at least they covering their man but it makes it extra harder when u ant getting no pressure at all.

I disagree man. Our secondary is either too inexperienced or just awful.
When talking about “good” teams, I assure you we are the one that gives up more big plays on the passing game. By far. Good to meet you by the way I don’t believe i had seen you around.

I disagree, as a rival.
Your secondary IS inexperienced. They also are extremely talented. They are raw and, with MORE experience, they’ll be ferocious. You can’t put a rookie against the best receiver of the past decade and expect immediate success. You CAN expect that they’ll learn from that experience. Look what happened to Darrell Revis in ‘07. Moss gained a billion yards and a hundred touchdowns. Now he’s able to shut him down. I’m expecting that from Davis, and that worries me.
If you’re giving up on your secondary because they’ve done poorly (as Rookies) against the three best passing teams in the league, you’re not giving them a fair shot. Especially when they’ve performed admirably.
Your defense is good. It will be great. It’s just that your “good defense” has been playing explosively great offensives, and have managed to keep all of those games close. I compare your defense to the Pats defense. If both of our defenses get solid pass rushers to apply constant pressure, our defenses go from “good and young” to “great and young.”
The difference today was on offense. Plain and simple. The Patriots offense was more potent than the Dolphins’.
Also, I’d like to say that the Pats had a bye week. Don’t forget that.

Yeah, but you haven't been around here to see how awful this secondary is
obvisoulsy you can’t expect much from the rookies but the safeties are veteran players and atrocious as well. The pass rush is old and the LB mediocre. Not to say the NT is retiring soon.

Yeah, our corners are the ONLY thing good about our secondary.

And the Dolphins are a young team?
I don’t know why I’m defending the Dolphins, but you guys are being WAAAAY too hard on them. I believe you had 3/4 of your secondary as Rookies because Clemons started. That’s going up against pretty much the same offense as the 2007 Patriots, which was pretty good. You can’t expect a team that went 1-15 two years ago to have elite players are every position. That’s what Parcells was brought in for. I’m sure the pass rush will be addressed in this next draft. Wake is gaining experience and will be VERY good. A lot of your current players have experience and will teach the younger players. The Phins will get a D-Line player with their first pick next year and he’ll be a stud. You guys are getting younger and getting deeper. You should be excited.
The issue isn’t with the secondary. It’s what you said. They weren’t penetrating into the backfield which gave one of the best QBs of all time (or a successful scheme player. Whichever you want) enormous amounts of time to throw to two of the best receivers in the game. And you expect the Pats offense to be shut down? Of course not.
Last year wasn’t a fluke, but it went better than it should have for the Dolphins. The team’s still a work in progress and will be great for years to come, but that progress continues for another year or two. Be patient. You have a good core and you will build from there.
At the Pulpit, we have a saying I’m sure you know. In Bill we trust. You should pick it up too. In Bill [Parcells] we trust. He knows what he’s doing. You build a team up from trench positions first, players who will be involved in every play (CBs, linemen) and then you get players who take the team to the next level (WRs, depth). The extra players are useless if your core is weak. You’re almost done building your core players and the depth will come in the next two years. Wait for it.

Maybe
but we’d be killing draft position, for playoff games that we have absolutely no chance of winning.

We are 3-5 while the Jets are 4-4 and the Pats are 6-2. There's no playoffs this year for us man

Theoretically it's possible
and it’s somewhat feasible if we just stop being dumb. I don’t expect it, but it’s possible. We hit the easy part of our schedule, while the Pats and Jets hit a rough patch. And don’t expect the Jets to do much. They’re very overrated and are in free-fall along with the Giants.

Yeah Jets won't do anything, but the Pats, they way they are playing and with
Brady starting to heat up with Randy Moss, will dominate this division again.
Bottom line:
Dolphins = Henne
Patriots= Tom Brady

Not really a change...
…but apart from the Titans/Bucs span, the Pats have had a rough patch all season!

God how I would love for us and the Jets to play against each other in the playoffs

I don’t think we can catch the Pats for the division title, but playoffs is not unrealistic. Those next three games are winnable. A lot of the AFC wildcard teams are beating up on each other. 10-6 may be enough this year. Pats are not going to win their next three, and Jets are a nonfactor. I’m still optimistic. We’re a good team, but an inexperienced/unlucky team. In 2-3 years we’ll be great.

The only teams that moved up in the wildcard hunt on us were Jacksonville and San Diego
Every other team, besides the Steelers who play tonight, and the Jets and Bills who had byes, proceeded to lose their games. Quite truthfully, we hardly lost a step, except to the Division title.
