Which Dolphis deserve to go to the Pro Bowl as of now?

So after 7 games, which Miami Dolphins layers deserve to go to the Pro Bowl? I have seen some very impressive players, and some not so impressive players, but here are my selections...

1. Ronnie Brown RB - Has been beasting it up. T-4 in rushing TDs.

2. Randy Starks DE/DT - 3.5 Sacks but has been in the backfield almost every play!

3. Ted Ginn Jr. KR - If he just has a decent season for the rest of the year, he should sneak in.

That all I could think of:( Who do you think deserves to get in?

I could see JT sneak in

If he can keep up his recent performance. He’s #10 in the league right now in sacks. Maybe an alternate or something.

I think Grove also, but he probably wont... so many good C's in the AFC.

Jeff Saturday, Hartwig, Mangold, Birk, etc! And Grove is way underrated to keep up with the big names.

Randy?

No. Sorry, but he has just been decent, not pro bowl level. Have we already forgotten that Phillip Merling was tearing it up from the same position early in the year? I’m glad Starks is playing well, I just think people are building him up to the point where he won’t be able to meet their expectations.

Let’s just celebrate our amazing depth at DE, hell even NT, before we crown Randy Starks.

Starks has been the best player on the DL. Period.

He has 3.5 sacks, higher than any other Dlineman. He has 26 tackles, which is higher than any other Dlineman. Plus a pass defense and I can’t fine it, but he has had some nice run stuffs for loss.

Merling has had a couple of decent games but nothing compared to what Starks is doing right now.

A nice problem to have, eh?

Ronnie, Ricky, Long and Grove

And I love what Starks is doing for us. He’s a great example of what happens when a superb FO gets through to a player with “character issues.”

I’d still like to get one more DE, though. We have outstanding talent at the position, but I’d like to get a “freak” DE who will command constant double teams from the O line. I still like the idea of going after Carlos Dunlap, but the player I am really hot on right now is Jean Pierre-Paul from USF. Dude’s nasty.

It'd be a cold day in hell

before Ginn got into the pro-bowl as anything really. Definitely not a reciever, and Royal and Cribbs will take the AFC special teamers too.

Jake Long...

Lost his bid after Atlanta. You can’t get physically dominated as a LT one game and expect to make the Pro Bowl.

My three are:

JT – 5.5 Sacks, 2 FF and a TD.
Ronnie Brown – 7TD and better yardage than last year gets the nod.
Ted Ginn as KR – If he breaks another one.

I could see Grove, but really haven’t enough data to say either way.

I still remember that Abram sack, where he got picked up and tossed aside in one motion.

A bad day for Jake Long

Yeah but....

Justin Smiley later said that it was Jake Grove’s fault because he hiked the ball on the wrong snap-count….

I think the only one that might make the pro-bowl right now would be Jason Taylor…..

The way the players are constantly rotating makes it difficult for one person to stand out statistically…. But we all know there are some studs on this team…

GO FINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by scbrandon on Nov 7, 2009 8:14 PM EST up reply actions

Huh?

Jake Long’s not going to the Pro Bowl because he was crowned in the chin by John Abraham’s helmet? You could put any lineman in the game in that situation and the result would’ve been the same — If you take a John Abraham helmet shot to the chin, you’re going down. It’s easy to blackout when you get blasted in the jaw with that kind of force.

I think Jake’s going to the Pro Bowl. Hell, Jason Peters was named to the Pro Bowl last year after giving up something like 11 sacks — and they weren’t coverage sacks, either. He was anhilliated off the edge by a few guys.

No Grove, he’s been solid for most games, but I blame him for the Atlanta game.

Yeah I’d say JT, Lousaka, Ricky & Ronnie all have realistic and deserved shots. But the whole pro-bowl thing is kind of a joke anyway – Ronnie and JT are the only ‘names’ so they’re the best bets.
