Time for some youth?
With Will Allen going down for the year, Vontae and S.Smith will obviously be the 1 and 2 CB's barring injury, but in the past few games (the saints and jets notably) has anyone felt like Porter and JT are just not getting it done? How is Wake not getting more reps? Understandably his sample size is small, but its pretty damn impressive. Somethings gotta change because when the game is on the line this team constantly buckles late and lets teams just will thier way back into games with no resistance, ie. Colts, Saints, Jets. The pot needs to be stirred and there is no way im saying we just give up or bench Peezy or JT, but get these youngin some reps.
Id just like to see guys like Wake and Walden get some reps, it just doesnt seem like peezy and JT are hungry for it right now.

I can see JT...
…being used in more of a Junior Seau kind of role. An impact player with a positive influence on the younger players, but he relinquishes some playing time for the greater good. He plays less, stays fresh and can be used during crucial points of the game.

wat ever happened to wake, J.T, and J.P being on the feild on the same time
but if i had to choose ill probrably bench J.P he’s not getting it done, at least J.T gets pressure, but i say play the young guys first then play the veterans in the second half

I'd like to see
Matt Roth back on the strongside and JT back on the weakside! Let JT do his thing against the LT and RB’s where he has been dominating for 11 years!

I'd like to see JT there too, however, I saw Matt Roth extremely out of shape last sunday.

idk
he looked bigger. but you have to admit roth was in on alot of plays. the guys is ferocious. He brings the intensity that our defense needs, when he was jawing with the jets TE before the game it got me fired up. it looked like he was going to rip his head off.
2009 is a year of respect ladies and gentlemen. Lets get it.
"i think we have to look at it through his shoes" tuscanitunr talkin about brett farve.

hhahah didn't see that. But yes, Im with the group that wants him back
like you say, he is a monster and surely will bring some if the intensity this defense needs.

We definitely need a mean streak on our defense
I really don’t see anyone other than Vante Davis that brings the lumber when they hit! Roth is more physical and definitely likes to mash!

Matty
can you get stats for the number of snaps that Wake has taken and how many sacks/hurries/pressures or hits after throws he has made?
I have noticed him on ST, but whenever I see him in on defense, it seems like he is always a hair away from making a sack.

What I mean is that I think his pressures etc are a high percentage
of the snaps he is in on. If that is extrapolated for an entire game, I think he could be a big impact player.

His pressures per plays is extremely high
I can’t understand how the coaching staff isn’t seeing that. It is painfully obvious to us armchair QBs, but come on….open your eyes Sparano and Co.
Wake is wicked coming off of the edge. I don’t care who we pull or put where in order to get him in there, but sheesh, just get it done!

If we wanna get younger...
Play Paul instead of Fergie more often. That would reduce how much the 35 year old is needed and make him fresher for when he is needed. Not to mention Paul was a monster contributor to why we won last week and is getting very little credit for it.
By playing him our average starters age would go down dramatically

Solai
Hes played alot more recently actually, he was in alot vs the Jets. So if were admittedly tryin to jell the younger guys into action and our pass defense is suffering, why is our most important Pass Defense factor not being injected with this youth?

our defense is too old, our offense is too young
so let our offense develop (add a vet reciver, though)
and draft a younger defense
