Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

Playoff Run for the Dolphins is Gonna be Tight. . .

Getting a Wild Card could be easier, but looking at Division Champs. . .

Week 12: Miami wins, New England loses, NE: 7-4 MIA: 6-5

Mia @ Buf

Ne @ No

Week 13: Miami wins, tied for first at 7-5

Ne @ Mia

Week 14: I say both teams win. Stay tied at 8-5.

Mia @ Jac

Car @ Ne

Week 15: Both win. 9-5.

Mia @ Ten

Ne @ Buf

Week 16: Both win. 10-5

Hou @ Mia

Jac @ Ne

Week 17: Both win. 11-5

Pit @ Mia

Ne @ Hou

Being literal, New England will most likely pummel every single one of those teams. For Miami, I would only concern the Pittsburgh game and the New England one. Both could be tough. If all goes as said, it would be same as last season. 11-5 at 11-5. We would win tiebreaker, because we have a better divisional record! We would be 5-1 divisionally and they would be 4-2.

The best way for it to happen is simple. We win all. They lose at least twice.

While we play some easier teams...

Remember no game in the NFL is easy. Buffalo lost a heartbraker last week and they will play with a lot of intensity. New England is the one team that probablly has the best chance to beat NO. Also the NE game is going to be tough because it always is against the Brady Bunch. Tennesse is on a roll now and Pit will not be sitting no starters since they have to fight into the playoffs. We can do it but I wouldn’t say it’s gonna be easy. And the only game I can see NE losing is NO. We have a good shot but its just to tough to tell. We need to try and knock houston out and get in as a wild card which should be easier. Up and down this year lets stay up!

I was just saying,

How it would need to work out for us to win the division. Not really doing any real picks.

parity can be a relative thing - ask Lions & Browns about parity

JAX and TEN are the two teams that make me very uneasy

But we have to beat NE or its all over

I wouldn't get too excited, NE is playing like it was 2007

while we are starting a first year qb and two rookie cornerbacks plus a mediocre receiver and safety corps, not to mention the losses of our franchise running back, starting NT, starting QB, starting #1 CB, etc. I wouldn’t ask this young group of players to take us to the playoffs, I’d just like for them to continue to develop as great as they are doing looking forwards to the next couple of years being a power house. Plus, besides Buffalo, we will probably play underdog to every team, including a rising NE, a jacksonville team at home looking to make the playoffs, an up and coming Vince Young and C Johnson at Tennessee in the cold and of course the reigning Super Bowl champions who most likely will be playing for a shot at the playoffs against us. Not looking too good for a rebuilding franchise. I say keep the focus on where it needs to be, developing a future franchise qb and the rest of an extremely young team.

He means first year as a starter.

Henne is a first year QB plain and simple

Unless you want to get all “i live on my mom basement’s” technical then sure ….

by MauMontaV5 on Nov 25, 2009 9:56 AM EST up reply actions

I agree with Monta

He played in one game last year and it wasnt even a whole game!!!!!

Must football fans be so technical!!!

There's a big difference between a first year QB and first year starter.

A first year QB is right out of college, and has no comprehension of the speed and flow of the NFL game. A first year starter has probably had a year or two of learning the system and adapting to the NFL game.

I think we can beat them at home and then proceed to tie their record, why you ask? because it’s what we do, punch the critics right in the nuts

We lost to Indy and NO at home

And those are the Elite of the NFL this year

What can we do against NE for a different result?

Bottom line....we win all six, we're in the playoffs guaranteed.

But realistically, we may only pull out 2 or 3 of these games. NE is not going to be easy, plain and simple. Jacksonville and Tennessee are good running teams, and our running D is non-existent. We’ve never beaten the Texans, and they’ve only gotten better every year. Pittsburgh is a tough one to call because they’re in the same position as us, dealing with injuries and sputtering on offense. Don’t get me wrong, I think we’ll have a chance to win each of these games, and I truly hope this team continues to suprise me with their resiliency.

by luvs2drnk on Nov 25, 2009 7:02 AM EST reply actions

Not true about run D there. . .

Miami has the 3rd best Run D in the league.

Actually we're 12th.

And even that is misleading.
First 4 games: 244 yards allowed
Last 6 games: 815 yards allowed, that’s 135 yards a game, at a horrible 4.6 ypc.
That is not a good run game

by luvs2drnk on Nov 25, 2009 9:53 AM EST up reply actions

Perhaps we can hire a cement company

to build a wall for the remaining six games we can take with us

yes but our run D was better when JT was in full time instead of Roth

Roth was great last year but is now getting mauled by people like Ben Watson

prepare for one team at a time...

and we can stand tuff against these last 6 teams. I dont think our game strategy changes much from game to game…control t.o.p,.turnovers, and field position…..We do,however, need each player/position, to step up his game..LESS MOUTH, MORE SOUTH….FLORIDA……Phins,Fins…
