I have been extremely critical of PP this season. I think he's done the least with the talent afforded him of any DC in the entire NFL. We've given up more points than the Bills.
I do think, though, that last week (vs. the Panthers) was his best complete game this season (he had an outstanding first half - for example - against the Saints).
I'm interested in your thoughts on the issue.
By the way, I'm new here. From what I've read, you all seem like good folk.
And, I still want Romeo as our DC next season.

lol just can't take Romeo seriously after those Coors Light commercials
and I’d be weary to crown him as a Defensive Genius, we all know that Belichick had both hands all over that D in New England, and it seems like all his assistants are failures once they leave. I have to believe that Belichick was responsible for the Super Bowl D in NE moreso than Romeo.
But, if Romeo can run a similar 3-4 scheme that Belichick does and confuse the shit outta people, I’m all for it. Just seems like a bigger if to me than to most.

I'm not a fan of Crennel...
… he’s been around a long time, going back to the two Super Bowls of the NYG, even then Belichick was right beside him.
So I’m with Nick on this, I don’t think he’s got it, too much eveidence that Parcells or Belichick were more in control then him.
I don’t say no……. but hell no, to Crennel.

Although this is an ultimate acheivement...
… it doesn’t grade a team’s defense…
Besides…….. it wasn’t NE’s defense that lost them the Super Bowls….. it was the opposing team’s defense that did that ;-]

I’ve been wanting Romeo since he was riding gulf carts with BP during training camp. With a real DC, I think we have the talent to be a top 8 – maybe top 5 – D next season.
And, I should have mentioned that PP’s primary mistake against Carolina was holding Wake out for the majority of the final two drives.

I wish we never lost Jim Bates.
They should have never gotten his hopes up by letting him become interim head coach. That gave him the idea he could actually be hired as a head coach, which he found out, was not a reality.
Bates was OK, but his teams were built around smaller D’s that would wear down late into the season. Bigger D’s tend to hold up as the season progress – and play better in cold weather.
