Happy Birthday to The Phinsider!!
That's right. The Phinsider turned 3 years old yesterday. Wait - so why didn't I post this yesterday? Because I thought it was actually launched on the 19th of November back in 2006. But when I went back into the archives, I saw that my original "welcome" post (which you can see by clicking the above link) was actually on November 18. Of course, the site looked far different back then. If you don't remember - or never saw - the original site layout, then check it out right here.
Ironically enough, our birthday here was also a day that brought bad news. But because of that bad news, the site's three year old birthday was actually the 5th most viewed day in the site's history. In fact, outside of draft weekend back in April (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday of draft weekend are spots 1-3 all-time in this site's history), yesterday's birthday was the second busiest day in site history - only topped by the Tuesday following the Dolphins' exciting Monday night win over the Jets.
So thanks to all of you who have helped this little Dolphins community grow into the best one anywhere. And hopefully the next three years will be even more successful than these last three. Hmmm...a Super Bowl win would really help us achieve that, don't ya think?

Congrats on 3 years Matty! Sucks this happens same time as Ronnie’s bad news, instead of something great to talk about, but life goes on, right?
Well, after 3 years The Phinsider is the best.
This site is the first thing I check in the morning and I check it all day when I can. The passion on this site makes me even more of a Dolphins fan. I remember the only Dolphins news I got was maybe in Sports Illustrated or maybe if I ordered Dolphins Digest, and that would be once a month. I like how everyone here is on top of everything that happens with the team. Matty you’re the best too, even with your “man-crushes” which are hilarious to me. Peace.

Who would have thought that in a mere 3 years it would have a Fanpost with 52 recs (and still climbing!) and a Fanpost that got around 2500 comments but strangely lost about 900 of them to end at 1600-something?!?!?!?!?!
And a group of fans like are here who post knowledgeable and insightful posts. And others who comment on them. I know we get a little crazy at times, but it is all in good fun.
And then there is Matty I. What can be said that has not already been said? Thanks to all this is the best blog around!

I remember years ago how painful it was to try and blog anything in the Dolphin forum on NFL.com via Miami’s page…..that was back in the Dave “I can’t grow a decent cop mustache” Wanndsteadt era too. IT SUCKED! Correct me if I am wrong Matty, but wasnt the first official post the day after Ronnie broke his hand against the Lions on Thanksgiving day when Joey Harrington was our QB? Man, seems like yesterday and also forever ago at the same time!!

I know, I know it’s not really your birthday but in a way you gave birth to something precious, something dear, and something ultimately crazy. Will you come to regret this crazy, one night stand of a thing where you woke up one day and said “You know what be great…a Community to talk about things Dolphins…” and you sir made it happen. Even the discussion of what it should be named was null and viod and you stood up and proudly siad “It shall be called…‘The Phinsider’! and one day, just perhaps one day when enough crazy dolphin fanatically inclined people gather together at this beholden ‘Phinsider’ it shall be great…..just maybe, it shall be great.”
