This is horrible news....
I'm watching sportscenter and Adam Schefter just reported that Ronnie is done for the year..
I guess now it was a great move not trying to stash Lex Hilliard on the practice squad cause we would have been screwed if he was poached by another team....
Anyways, hopefully Ricky still has some gas left in his tank and Lex takes advantage of a bad situation and shows what he can do...

Just saw this
I am in complete shock. I heard the rumors all day but I just ignored it. This is completely devastating to me. Not only is our season now in turmoil but who knows if we will resign him now. My fave is gone. :(

I just saw this, too.
I think this is the end of RB as a Dolphin. If he is going to be getting a new contract, I think our FO will not pay him big $$. Some other team no doubt will, and I see him taking the larger amount.
Hopefully not, however.

he is one of my all-time favorite dolphins, but i can’t see the Trifecta giving him a big contract…
Fortunately if there is an un-capped year he will still be under contract from us and we can trade him and we will probably get a compensatory pick at worst

First CP10 and now RB. looks like the future is now and I guess that includes the running back position. Didn’t think THAT would happen so soon.

Damn.
Ronnie Brown is my favorite Dolphin and my favorite NFL Player. If anyone has ever heard his life story, he is a remarkable person. We need more of his type in the NFL. Anyway, not one, but two trips to IR ruining otherwise great seasons means he is only good, not great. Therefore, he likely will not be a Dolphin come 2010. Too bad. Looks like my sig means nothing anymore.

when i saw ronnie leaving the field, i could tell it was bad
first ricky had to literally carry him off the field. then when he left the sideline area, he was walking very very slow and gingerly.

While most may see this as a bad thing...
There are quite a few good things that come from this.
1. We finally get a chance to see what we got in Hilliard and Sheets.
2. Pat White’s role could get expanded and we get to see if he can do anything else besides run.
3. If a new CBA is reached before the next league year, we shoud be able to re-sign Brown for cheap.
I actually think heavy doses of Ricky and Lex is going to have a bigger impact on defenses than Ricky and Ronnie did. Both Lex and Ricky are physical backs that punish tacklers each run. Yes, Brown has a bit of truck in him, but I don’t think it’s as much as Lex has.
I think our best chance now
is more traditional offense mixed with some wildPat—-let’s give him some throws. And Please, let Henne get a semblance of a rhythm without jumping to wc/wp formation every 3 plays. I’d like to see him throwing more, even to our receiving corps. I hope Ronnie comes back, but if he doesn’t, I will wish him well wherever he ends up.
